Social Security is an "entitlement program"? Explain that one.....especially since one is taxed at 7.5 percent that is matched by the employer......

sure it is. If you live to be 72, you'll get back everything you've paid into it. The average life expectancy is 78. It's completely a welfare program.

LMAO!!!! Show me the math on that one, dumb ass......link please?

If you're SELF employed, that goes up to about 14 year "break even".. And if you're millennial professional making $80K a year (mid middle class) and you work for yourself --- That's 28 year payback..

Where you socialist/commies go wrong with "Universal anything" is there's a LOT OF FOLKS who are not "average" or fit your one size plans.....

It works just fine for the vast majority, that's the point. If you were making 80K a year your whole career, you probably didn't need Social Security unless you were spending like a drunk sailor.

But I would TOTALLY love to see you guys run on "Let's abolish social security and you guys are on your own!" Please, please, please do that.

Simple, clear, direct question: Are you proud of your party right now?

I was going to list some of things being said and done by both parties right now, but I really don't think I need to.

In all seriousness, are you proud of your party's general behaviors right now?

Independents/Moderates, please vote and comment too.

I vote No, I don't see or understand what this stuff is supposed to accomplish for the long run.
.

Your president is a greatly pragmatic and politically centrist president. WTF are you bitching about? Give specific examples or STFU.
If you believe that Trump is "pragmatic" and "centrist", I believe that you believe that.

It certainly identifies where you exist on the political spectrum.

And I'm talking about parties, not individuals. Calm down and read.
.

If long-lasting progress is going to be made, they'll just need to be marginalized so that those who CAN collaborate can get to it.
What do you mean? Progress towards what? Communism? Or what?

Grow some balls.
I can understand why someone like you would be so flummoxed by my point.

I'm not obligated to hold your hand through this.

Not happy with my party. As a Blue Dog Democrat , I’m my own best friend... :abgg2q.jpg:

A real "Blue Dog" or just a show pony wanting to distance themselves from the nutter like AOC and the "squalid"!!

There are Blue Dogs. In your party, people who think for themselves are called "radical pinko RINO commies".

Not everyone is a crazed, obedient, intolerant winger. Even if they belong to a party. In fact, most are not.

I'm not proud of people who sit their behinds on Swiss mountains and act superior to the rest of us. Where's that selection in your poll, Mac?
I guess that's a "yes". Please vote, I'd like to see how this goes. Trolling really isn't helpful in the CDZ. Thanks.
.

My vote would be, and I'm dead serious:

I wish DC would break away from the mainland, float out to sea, and take all the politicians and lobbyists with them. Because I'm a Christian and not totally heartless, we could airlift supplies out to their little Politician Island, where they could continue to do their thing not knowing that their thing would have no effect on the rest of us.

That's my vote.

What a pleasant thought. The new seat of power would be Mar-a-lago??

Both parties suck.

You mean like people who think for themselves and vote jobs ahead of food stamps??

I mean people who can think for themselves without spouting off shallow talking points.

Do not match in lockstep with them, but they are the closest group to my politics.

Please detail how so??

Greg

I support the principle of federalism. I’m pro death penalty as well as pro choice. I’m a fiscal conservative, yet a social moderate. I’m for securing our borders and take a harder line on immigration than most Democrats. I embrace a strong defense, but believe their is a middle ground for how much to spend on our military. I support compromise with the GOP to pass legislation for the good of the country. I reject extremism in the Democratic Party as much as I do within the Republican Party. I agreed with Zell Miller that “my country is more important than my party.”

I can't speak for you, but I think what many don't understand is that some of us see the behaviors and actions of hardcore partisan ideology as a larger overall threat than stands on individual issues.

To me, that's where the fundamental problem exists -- the unwillingness, and/or perhaps inability, to fix our problems on a macro level. And that's what concerns me. One "side" getting temporary victories, followed by wild swings back and forth -- that's killing us, and they truly don't appear to care.

I'm neither pro-death penalty or pro-choice but with the rest I would be close to your views. How tribal are you?
