PolitiFact has selected Romney's claim that Barack Obama "sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China" at the cost of American jobs as the 2012 Lie of the Year.

Fiat, Chrysler to produce Jeep in China: paper
MILAN | Sun Jan 13, 2013 3:31pm EST

(Reuters) - Italian carmaker Fiat and its U.S. unit Chrysler are set to sign a new agreement with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co to produce the Jeep vehicle for the Chinese market, Il Corriere della Sera said on Sunday.

In an unsourced article, the Corriere said the head of Fiat and Chrysler Sergio Marchionne could announce the agreement at the Detroit auto show, which kicks off on Monday.

Under the agreement, off-road vehicles under the Jeep brand will be produced at GAC's Canton factory, the paper said.

Fiat, which declined to comment the report, already has a joint venture with GAC.

Why didn't you include this part?

The agreement does not envisage moving any jobs from Chrysler's main Jeep factory in Toledo, Ohio, the Corriere said.

I bet you believe in the middle class tax cut also.

Romneys claim would certainly be characterized as lie of the year either

Those were Mittens' exact words, that the president "sold Chrysler to Italy".

I have yet to read any evidence that its true.

Obama DID NOT sell Chrysler to Italy. Period.

Mittens LIED.

But even if he didn't lie about this, good gawd, he (and Lyin Ryan) lied very time they opened their mouths. Ryan even lied about his running time in a marathon. How stupid is that?

And yet, this past week at the vacation we taxpayers paid for, he's been teaching the other dinosaurs of the GObP "how to win". And, that's while three old white dudes teach them how to talk to women and them colored folx.

Assholes.

It was a lie.

Romney thought that GM was following Bain Capital's business model of moving American jobs abroad.

And that wasn't the case.

Is this the tenth thread on this from the 'nuts?

One of you name the US Jeep plant that is closing, or is laying off to move the jobs to China.

No one has answered that question yet, so be the first!

Otherwise it proves that the lie is still a lie.

The OP posted a link that proves his own claim false??

I love it when the 'nuts do that!! lol

I'd still like to know what happens to left over campaign funds when the candidate loses.

There has to be some reason why Romney ran.

Methinks that "The Producers" was more than just good comedy!

(BTW - Did you know that Mel Brooks actually wanted to produce a comedy about Hitler and the Nazi, but it was so resoundingly rejected that he turned his original idea into "The Producers"?)

What cracks me up most about this is the claim that this proves that Politifact is a left-wing propaganda tool. They seem to forget that the Lie of the Year from the same organization the year before bashed the Dems claim that the Republicans voted to end Medicare.

The extremists can start wiping the egg from their faces now. Or keep it on. Up to you.
