We're reaching "is nothing sacred?" territory.

When the Yankees and the apple pie factories of America start holding rallies for Obama I might do something drastic.

NBA stars are entertainers are they not? Is that any different than other candidates. Look at McCain in the last election.

And it would just be like an all star event, no DEFENSE and a lot of showboating, not real basketball.

I don't care if a yacht load of Hollywood celebrities throw him a gala.

But our national sports are supposed to be for all of us. Dad doesn't get to take his kids to cheer their team on. The vendors who depend on sports fans buying their wares can go bust. But Obama is gonna have a game for people who want to give him money?

    That bites.

Well, whatever social strata the tickets have been available to, they at least used to be nonpartisan. And friends could get together and watch the games on TV and have a break from politics and from anything else serious.

Now what might be the only game of the season is only for well-off Democrats.

    A bridge too far.

Its a damn pick up game put on by supporters of Obama? You seem to have a problem with the free market(ticket price), athletes/entertainers having opinions and supporting their candidate of choice. Its not only for well-off Democrats, i'm sure Republicans have the ability to attend if they wish to purchase a ticket.

    purchase a ticket?

Why would Republicans want to make a donation to Obama's reelection campaign.

It is a campaign event during a time when the rest of the country is deprived of the sport.

Another tone deaf moment by the president.

We really don't have much left to bring us together as a country and Obama just poisoned one of the last venues for nonpolitical good times.

    It's sad.

p.s. Would they even have been allowed to play if they hadn't disbanded their union? Just curious how that works.
