I'm not one for bumper sticker "wisdom", but there's an element of truth to it.

A somewhat valid oversimplification of current political ideologis would be that "liberals" are reaching towards a utopian future, seeing how much "better" we could be, whereas "conservatives" are instead reaching backwards towards a utopian past and seeing how much better things were "back then".

Literally. I always park facing out so that backing up is not even in play. It's more gas and wear on the drive train.
