This isn't the only example- there are lots of local problems, and in fact massive problems with absentee ballot fraud. But that's not the same as the next step which is often claimed- in person, voter fraud where someone is pretending to be someone they are not. That's what's nearly non-existent and that's what liberals/progressives are objecting to people claiming is an issue. There's no evidence of any substantial number of people pretending to be people they aren't, and voter ID laws block by multiple orders of magnitude more people from voting than they stop voting fraud.

Yeah, but these are people that the republicans that create these laws don't want voting anyway.

In Texas, out of 50,000,000 votes cast over 10 years......2 were instances of in person voter fraud.

And for this, Texas disenfranchised an estimated 200,000 people with their voter ID laws. Despite it being about 8 times more likely that you'd be struck and killed by lightning in Texas......than commit voter ID fraud.

The laws have nothing to do with preventing voter fraud. And everything to do with keeping 'undesireables' from being allowed to vote. Why else would Texas exclude student IDs, issued by their OWN state universities as valid identification for voting.......but allow gun licenses.
