The article: Pfizer CEO says people who spread misinformation on Covid vaccines are 'criminals'

From the article:

"People who spread misinformation on Covid-19 vaccines are "criminals" and have cost "millions of lives," Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said Tuesday.

Speaking with Washington D.C.-based think tank Atlantic Council, Bourla said there is a "very small" group of people that purposefully circulate misinformation on the shots, misleading those who are already hesitant about getting vaccinated.

"Those people are criminals," he told Atlantic Council CEO Frederick Kempe. "They're not bad people. They're criminals because they have literally cost millions of lives."

Bourla's comments come as millions of eligible adults in the U.S. have yet to get vaccinated even though the shots have been available to most Americans most of this year. Public health experts say misinformation is likely playing a large role.

According to a survey published Monday by the Kaiser Family Foundation, more than three-quarters of U.S. adults either believe or aren't sure about at least one of eight false statements about Covid or the vaccines, with unvaccinated adults and Republicans among those most likely to hold misconceptions.

Covid vaccines contain microchips, cause infertility and change one's DNA are among the falsehoods, according to the survey."

OP Comments:

Must be great—to get away with calling people criminals who don't like or trust your product. I guess online bad reviews of the vaccines are equivalent to bank robbery then? Remember those 60's and 70's science fiction movies and novels set in dystopian worlds run by evil mega-corporations? Welcome to the future. The future is now.

Cost "millions of lives" when a total of 5 million have died worldwide? Is he trying to help his credibility or harm it?

I'm not an anti-vaxxer, though I am anti most medications unless it's absolutely necessary. That said, he is lying if he suggests he has all the answers. It's why his company is protected from lawsuits.

Definitely got some of the 600,000 killed.
We all do not know the real mechanisms of government and private companies and the endless middlemen who are supposed to be above board as politicians, government employees, private employees, lobbyists, lawyers and others. We can all bet that they are living much better lives though. We are just a richer version of nations not as fortunate. And we see their failed totally corrupted ways coming to our Southern border. Whatever our opinions on those trying to get in, it is understandable. I believe we are fortunate. But we are all going to lose it if we keep the same act up.

Scum..yes.

Criminals? No.

Message boards that allow it such mis-information to be spread? Possibly. If Facebook can be held accountable for what people choose to do on it's platform; so can USMB. The Mods really need to take stock of what type of show they're running here.

That problem is easily solved. The American people can demand an end to lobbyist influence of our elected officials and go out and vote only for candidates, regardless of party affiliation or lack thereof, who will swear off lobbyist money, but at the end of the day we won't do it.

Obama promised to ban lobbyists from the White House and then one of the first thing he did as president was invite in the lobbyists.

Unfortunately I don't think it is a big enough anchor issue to keep the voters' miniscule attention spans. Term limits maybe.

What about when people die because of your drugs?

The COVID vaccines aren't killing any more people than flu shots do. 7.32 billion jabs thus far and perhaps 100 or 200 deaths directly attributable.

Nope, what's killing people is disinformation on Facebook and anti-vax sites.
