The minute I saw this story, I knew it was gonna be great fun. Everyone was gonna immediately lose their shit.
May as well embrace the madness for a while.
That's my guess, but we'll see. My guess was wrong in 2016.
NEWS ANALYSIS: The Norwegian government is about to make it much tougher for many foreign nationals to move to Norway and settle down in the country. Newspaper VG reported on Tuesday that a proposal sent out to hearing this week would extend the qualifying period for permanent residence permission to five years, nearly doubling the amount of time that effectively puts a newcomer on probation. At a time when Norway has sought global talent and likes to portray an international image, it’s questionable whether the government realizes what it’s doing.
Never have I been up in someone's head like this, ever. But the important thing is that he's making the PC Snowflakes sad!!!! Well, to Mac, anyway. That's my guess, but we'll see. My guess was wrong in 2016.
The outrage, particularly and predictably by the media, is obviously meant, at its core, to damage Trump and the GOP at the polls.
We'll see what voters really think of this stuff, in November. At least Trump is doing everything he can to sharpen the contrast.
In her inquiry into xenophobia, Teaching Fellow at University of Leeds Mette Wiggen concludes that “I think this negativity is worse in Norway than in European countries with a longer history of immigration,” she says, adding that social media is partly to blame.
“On Facebook you often see young people leaving comments like 'I'm not racist, but if they can't behave the way we want them to they should just pack it up and go home.’ Today such comments are commonplace.”
Wiggen suggests that this is a new form of racism, which is less visible as it focuses on cultural and not ethnical differences.
“People argue that this isn't racism because the alleged problem is in the culture and not the race, but it's not that different, really.”
Norway's migration policy is similar to its attitude towards the European Union (EU). Though it has not joined the EU and remains outside the reach of most EU policy, many of its independent decisions — particularly regarding its relationship to European borders and migration policy management — have a uniquely European character.
The country's carefully regulated effort to allow only selected migrants to be admitted, together with its commitment to ensuring social equality for those who arrive, closely fits the model to which many other European countries (with varying degrees of success) aspire.
You don’t fucking get it do you. A president of the United States should be BETTER thanHow dare Pres. Trump call Haiti a shithole!!
When it's obviously a liberal's idea of paradise. ......
on cue...., people speak out against the deplorable things this president does... you have to criticize them.Looks like Norway has similar feelings about immigration like Trump.
