Peak Number Of Americans Delaying Medical Care Over Costs

"
One in three Americans has put off seeking medical treatment in 2014 due to high costs, according to Gallup — the highest percentage since Gallup began asking the question in 2001.

Thirty-three percent of Americans have delayed medical treatment for themselves or their families because of the costs they’d have to pay, according to the survey. Obamacare, of course, had promised that it would help make health care more affordable for everyone, but the number of people who can’t afford a trip to the doctor has actually risen three points since 2013, before most Obamacare provisions took effect."

Nuh-UH!!!!!!

Then why did Republicans block millions from having health care? Is their policy really "Let them die"?

Because they knew the AHCA sucked and still does.

Well they don't have either at the moment.

I want world peace, and that ain't happening either. Start dealing with reality instead of ideology.

You are the one not dealing with facts and reality.
Yes we do.
The truly Free Clinics are doing very well.
Resources The National Association of Free Charitable Clinics

A new report to be released by the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics reveals that over the last two years the nation’s 1,200 Free and Charitable Clinics have seen a 40 percent increase in patient demand, despite the full implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that 31 million Americans will remain uninsured by
2024, including many who qualify for health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
What part of the current system, including the ACA, is broken do you not get my little man? Healthcare in the US is fucked up, from the ground up.

I'm a female bucko.
The part that is fucked up is the government, who has their hands in the system, the VA., Medicare and Medicaid and over regulations in everything else that has the costs so high.
What part are you refusing to see, that a capitalist free market health care system is working?
The part that clearly shows it isn't working little pussy. If is was everyone would have coverage like they do TVs and cell phones, but you'd have to understand a simple fact, for-profit healthcare is about making money. They don't want to cover everyone, not even close.

And you are totally ignorant about EMTALA aren't you?
Use the Internet...look it up and find out WHY hospitals OVER CHARGE Medicare sometimes 6,000% in mark ups!
WHY??? Do some work idiot and find out what EMTALA start in 1986...by the way A GOP congress passed it thinking THEY WERE DOING SOME GOOD!
F...K they just created an avalanche of wasted bills that hospitals well read what a former CEO of a hospital said about EMTALA....

"How do hospitals deal with the cost of the uninsured? Like any business, we pass it on to the paying customers.

Facts on EMTALA;
Fact 1 – Yes, Ronald Reagan was in office when this bill passed.
Fact 2 – The bill was passed by a Democrat-controlled Congress.
Fact 3 – The bill was sponsored by Fortney “Pete” Stark, the powerful Democratic chair of the Medicare Committee, and backed by Ralph Nader’s Public Citizen group along with the National Organization of Women.
Fact 4 – The bill was inserted in the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act – a monster “Veto Proof” bill of more than 2200 pages that lumped all of the government spending in a bill that Democrats designed to be impossible for Reagan to veto.
Fact 5 – The EMTALA provisions were not in the Senate version of the COBRA bill, and just before the Conference Committee session, it was not expected to pass through to the final bill.
Fact 6 – At the Conference Committee, and literally behind closed doors in the dark of night, Stark managed to insert the EMTALA bill into the final version that Congress had to pass in order to find out what was in it. He argued it was “budget neutral” – meaning it did not cost anything to the budget, and in modern terms that meant it was an unfunded mandate.
Fact 7 – The bill was “veto proof” and Reagan signed it.

I am so tired of you ignorant people who are using the Internet but STILL GUESS about this crap!
A) There never was a health insurance crisis!! What made up the "crisis" supposed 4 million people that wanted and needed insurance!
B) Simple! Tax lawyers 10% of their $270 billion and that $27 billion pays the premiums for 4 million people that wanted and need insurance!

FACT is there were 10 million illegals counted as part of Obama's 46 million "UNINSURE"!
FACT there were 14 million people who because of the failure of Obama didn't know all they needed to do was register with Medicaid...THEY WERE COVERED!
FACT 18 million under 34 don't need.. make over $50,000 can afford BUT turn down employers' plans!
That leaves 4 million that truly wanted and need not no F>>>KING 46 million which was used to create this CRISIS!!

The Loons are just confirming that they are Thoroughly Grubered.

Thanks! I appreciate your more details and I am now not going to make that statement!
BUT The FACT is EMTALA caused the hospitals to pad and pass on uninsured expenses to insurance companies/Medicare!
My point is the "unintended consequences" of supposedly "helping" caused MORE problems!

And just as this was suppose to help ACA is causing more problems that never required ACA!
Federal Tort reform shows that "defensive medicine" can be reduced if the same rules applied to private insurance i.e. reduces the fear of lawsuits!
If 92% of physicians that aren't under federal contract could have the same tort protections that physicians under Federal laws had, there would be
a reduction of 30 maybe 40% of the $850 billion paid out JUST out of fear of lawsuits!
Think about $250 billion a year in reduction in health insurance premiums BECAUSE $250 billion wouldn't be spent on DEFENSIVE MEDICINE CLAIMS!

Universal Single-Payer, what other nations like ours have, is only the answer. If, that is, Americans would ever grow the fuck up, which they won't.

What part of it's expensive and most are broke don't you get?
There are no other nations like ours, you fuckn' dumbass.
The hell there aren't you little dumbshit, and they're eating our lunch. Grow up.

Why not address the point?

It ain't woikin.

Families cannot afford 12700 out of pocket.
The system as it stands isn't working, that is correct.
So Obama fucked it up

Ok

Sent from smartphone using my wits and Taptalk
Nope, he just made a hack in the right direction. The opening round to Single-Payer.

He fucked it up, Jake
Nope. Sacrifice fly.

If you could explain to me why we have a healthcare system that allows insurance companies to siphon away billions of dollars that would otherwise go to providing health care, I would love to hear it.
Health Care Plan type of insurance companies are near the bottom of the profit records in the whole health care sector at 4.4%. Medicare and Medicaid allow more fraud than that measly 4.4% by several multiples. Health care insurers bring some discipline and efficiency to medical care without which goes missing thus driving the cost of medical or health care up.

The mere fact that any government plan put into effect causes increases in the cost of health care and that people have to back off of getting proper care is a strong witness to that.

Insurance companies take money OUT of healthcare spending because they do not PROVIDE healthcare.

The biggest increase in putting off care was with households making 75K or more. What does that have to do with the ACA?

They aren't the ones getting the help with subsidies and cost sharing....it's all on them.

Next.
