Paul Ryan is against cutting the deficit

The 6 trillion dollars additional debt is surely caused by Obama. Want to disprove that??? 23 million people are out of work and 8+ percent unemployment throughout his entire presidency.

Real people are suffering because of this president.
The GOP National debt was nearly 11 trillion when Obama's first fiscal year started, then you add in nearly 1/2 trillion per year in interest on the Republican National Debt plus the carryovers from the Bush policies that continued after he left office like 2 wars and the unfunded Medicare Part D and you are up over 13 trillion in GOP debt. And there are only 12 million out of work, but don't let the facts stop you from lying.

The point is that it would be much worse if not for the deficits. Look at Spain or Greece -- they were forced to cut deficits during the recession and now they have 50% unemployment among the youth.

Ryan understands that, that is why he vowed to prevent the deficit cut in 2013. But he is also hypocritical enough to blame Obama for pursuing the same policy.

Yeah, see the problem with Greece and Spain is the are government run economies, their private sectors are nowhere near ours....and when you cut funding....they dont know how to do things without government....hopefully they learn, because their economies SUUUUUCK

For all practical purposes Greece and Spain are socialist, just like Obama wants for this country. Things CAN get alot worse folks. Elect Obama for a second term and see for yourself.

Ryan lied about the closing of a GE plant. He blamed it on Obama, but it closed in December of 2008 under Bush. We've not heard the end of this story.

The claim that Greece and Spain have implmented "austerity" budgets doesn't pass the laugh test.

Does that mean that I can laugh or I can't laugh. I like to laugh. I didn't know there was a test first.

Paul Ryan said in interview with Larry Larry Kudlow that the first order of business for him and Romney will be preventing the "fiscal cliff". Well, guess what -- the very same fiscal cliff would cut US budget deficit almost by half, to just $641 billion (compare that to 1.4 trillion in 2009 FY).

The reason for Ryan stance is simple -- the fiscal cliff would also put US back into recession, and we don't want that, do we? But just as clear is Ryan/Romney hypocrisy toward "Obama deficits" and toward Obama stimulus. Obama did not want to cut deficits for the same reason -- it would have hurt the economy. And, following the same logic, the economy would be in a much worse shape if not for the Obama stimulus back in 2009.

Yet Republicans spent last years blaming Obama for deficits and the stimulus.

The same stimulus that Ryan took 800 milion from?365 million was for green energy, yet now he is against green energy, My what a flipper.

The first order of business would be to stabilize the economy, everything else can come later.

Then why Republicans were bashing the stimulus? And what that debt limit drama was about? They don't care about the economy. They were doing everything they could to slow down the recovery, hoping that the voters would blame the sitting President. The sad part is that for the most part they got away with it.

Hello stupid.

The stimulus was largely a crony payoff.

If Obama had made it all tax breaks....no issue.

As it was, he didn't get the money out into the economy through is shovel ready jobs in a way that did anything.

The GOP wanted more tax breaks...but Obama needed to buy votes for 2012.

Crony payoff? You mean pork for congressional districts including Ryans?

Paul Ryan is against cutting the deficit

So are you for cutting the deficit...excellent! Welcome to the light.

The best plan I've seen to fiscal sanity is the Mack Penny Plan. I look forward to your endorsement or similar alternative.

Clearly you don't have a clue as to what a deficit is or how cutting the deficit works. Maybe I can explain it.

You have a job and you make xxx number of dollars a month. But you spend xxxx dollars a month. You are able to do this because you make up your deficit by using credit cards. When you max out your credit cards, you get a new credit card which now is used to make the payments on the old maxed out credit cards. You are living on your deficit. At some point, a lender will not give you a new credit card. Your debt to income ratio is too high. You are told to reduce your debt. This is what happened to Spain and Greece. As an individual you might take steps to stop deficit spending. You might not go to the movies or out to dinner, the old coat will have to do one more year and you pay down your debt. In order to reduce your deficit you MUST stop spending. You cannot reduce your debt until you first stop the current level of spending. You also cannot cut your deficit by going off a fiscal cliff and quitting your job. You might work overtime instead.

Ryan understand this. Before the deficit can be addressed, the fiscal cliff of higher taxes and increased spending has to be avoided. After that we can talk about deficit reduction. In reality, we might not need to address deficit reduction because we will already be reducing it. Just like you would be paying down your credit cards.

We finally have somebody with a thimble full of sense in Paul Ryan. And even though not all his ideas pass the smell test isn't anything better than what we have now? Obama and his Chicago thugs are monsters and worse, idiots. This country has been stale since Obama came into office because he has no earthly idea what he's doing. And if ( God forbid) we get another 4 years of that this country won't be worth saving.
I just cannot believe people aren't any smarter than that.

Pearls before swine, Im afraid.

As a matter of fact, there is no Paul Ryan economic plan. Democrats are resurrecting a plan not under consideration because they don't have any plan at all. There is no Paul Ryan medicare plan either. That the democrats do have a plan for. End medicare and fold it into obamacare.

It really is a shame that people do not understand that the crisis in Greece and Spain forcing them to reduce spending happened when the EU refused to lend these countries any more money unless they came up with a reduced spending plan.

So Paul Ryan is advocating a budget that balances the budget and cuts the deficit because he is against cutting the deficit? For some reason, I dont really see those as compatible.

Then again. Joe Biden did sponsor a bill to bring back the draft after 9/11 to accuse Republicans of trying to bring back the draft. So anything is possible.
