It would seem to me, based on the many comments I have read which ask Trump to get out of NAFTA altogether, that his administration would probably gain a great deal of votes by either pulling out of NAFTA or getting a much better deal for America and it's workers.

It was stated in these comments a few times also, a capitalist, free market country based on individual liberty cannot have a fair deal with socialist nations. This is quite accurate, American businesses are essentially competing against governments and their ability to borrow and operate within their operations.

I thought that Trump had pretty well resolved to pull out of NAFTA unless he can completely revamp it?

He was within a hair of pulling out altogether, but a call from PM Trudeau and the Mexican president convinced him that a renegotiation would be possible. He suggested if the negotiations don't progress well, the U.S will leave. They are currently negotiation in the preliminary stages, I believe August is the target to begin the heavy negotiations.

Wilbur Ross has been very good at collecting information and opinions from many, doing things just as Trump would in regards to becoming completely engrossed in all the stakeholders experiences, concerns and recommendations. He is the perfect person for Commerce Secretary and to oversee the NAFTA negotiations. He takes the same position Trump does, be a good listener and then be a strong leader and decision maker. It's in the blood of any experienced business person. He is not wet behind the ears and knows a scam and abuse when he sees one.

Not only are they collecting information now, but a couple of weeks ago they were collecting information from stakeholders regarding the abuses of NAFTA and trade deficits. He personally opened the proceedings in which many individuals and businesses from a broad array of industries voiced the issues they have not just with NAFTA, but also other nations (particularly China) who abuse trade rules.

If Americans want this done right, they have to voice their concerns and become more united on this trade front, it's vital for American democracy and the Wests way of life.

From Wilbur L. Ross wikipedia page, this encapsulates quite closely with my own opinion as it were. Cost me a great deal when I blew the whistle about Canadian abuses against American companies, but now it seems, it's going to cost Canada a great deal as they are no longer flying under the radar of abusive nations:

Political views[edit]
On the subject of foreign trade, Ross has said: "I am not anti-trade. I am pro-trade, but I'm pro-sensible trade. [Being anti-trade] is a disadvantage of the American worker and the American manufacturing community."[29] Ross has also said that the government "should provide access to our markets to those countries who play fair, play by the rules and give everybody a fair chance to compete. Those who do not should not get away with it -they should be punished."[29] Initially in favor of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Ross has said that after examining the agreement, he found it was "not consistent with what was advertised."[29]

All I can say is if the President does not live up to his word fully there is going to be a pile of crap hit the fan. Nafta has either be ended, or completely renegotiated. He has to standup in front of the Nation and explain himself. That is the end of anything I have to say at this time....So mad to say more.

He's too busy putting out fires from his fucking scandals that he alone has created. What a clown.

Yep! Better that he be just another empty talking suit regurgitating the same rehearsed audience-tested pap that you want from your politicians!

That's a great deal of comments for a obscure campaign, the vast majority negative unfortunately. NAFTA (and the elimination of, or, massive rehaul) could be a very powerful political weapon in either re-election or the opposition taking back the WH if the Dem candidate pushes back against the agreement.
