Our govt spied on 3.3 million phone calls with a single wiretap order — and got zero convictions

That's a lot of phone calls. I wonder how many people/phones were being "tapped" for that many calls?

According to the article, it's zero convictions yet. So that implies that there could be convictions. I don't think the article stated if there were arrests or not. The way the court systems are backed up, it can sometimes take a year or more for a case to go to trial.

From the article:
"Last year, federal and state judges authorized 3,168 wiretaps “permitting wire, oral, or electronic surveillance,” according to a report from the federal courts system. That may not seem like such a big number — after all, there are more than 300 million people in this country, so one wiretap per every 1,000 people or so isn’t bad, right?"
Um...~3200 wiretaps for a nation having a population of ~320M people is one wiretap per 100,000 individuals, not per 1,000.

I stopped reading there.
