A Mid-Michigan Township makes national news but there's a problem, local officials say the whole thing was made up.

Bill O'Reilly is making the claim that Saginaw Township officials banned residents from wearing red and green during the holiday season. Local officials say he's dead wrong.

Syndicated controversial talk show host Bill O’Reilly said on his radio show:

“In Saginaw , Michigan , the township opposes red and green clothing…on Anyone, In Saginaw Township they basically said anybody, we don’t want you wearing red or green. I would dress up from head to toe in red to green if I were in Saginaw Michigan .”

-- Bill O’Reilly

WNEM TV-5 Talked to Saginaw Township supervisor Tim Braun who says O’Reilly’s comments are flat out not true. Braun goes on to say the township hall has red and green Christmas lights adorning the building at night.

On December 12th the Fox News Channel which broadcasts O’Reilly’s Cable TV show “The O’Reilly Factor” told TV5 it was a radio issue and had nothing to do with the Fox News Channel. TV5 is contacting O’Reilly’s radio producers for their side of the story.

And again:

On both The Radio Factor and The O'Reilly Factor, host Bill O'Reilly falsely claimed a Texas school district "told students they couldn't wear red and green because they were Christmas colors." The school district has since released an official statement refuting O'Reilly's false contention.

not e-mail him your evidence. I think the guys a pompous jerk that seldom listens to his guests, and is, generally ill informed. And if you think he's a spokesman for conservatives you're dead wrong. O'Reilly is a media pundit with half a brain.

If you actually READ the link I posted, you would have noticed this:
Among the allegations was the claim that the district excluded the use of red-and-green colored napkins at the annual school holiday party. The complaint made no mention of restrictions on red and green clothing,

That explain it clear enough for ya?

You know it's funny, that's conspicuously absent from the lawsuit that was filed.

The big deal is that O'Reilly is making this shit up. It's a fake controversy.

Are you that obtuse to things around you? Do you REALLY think Christians aren't persecuted/muted by the hand of the PC? There isn't an actual "WAR" - just don't want you to try to get caught up on what you read. What IS going on is this:

People are afraid of Liberals and their lawsuits. Therefor, people are making policies contrary to National History, and at times, Christian beliefs.

You don't know what persecution MEANS.

Christians are trying to shove THEIR religion down the throats of other people, by trying to put it on display on public property. Not being allowed to do this is NOT persecution.

NOBODY is trying to stop Christians from putting religion on display on their own property.

Why don't you go talk to a holocaust survivor, and when you're done, we'll see if you still think that not being allowed to put a religious display at town hall (instead of at church, or on your lawn) is persecution.

Find an example of one of my posts quoting the bible that demonstrates how I don't understand freedom of religion.
Or STFU.

I think you'll choose the latter, cuz you're talking out of your ass ;)

I call "bullshit." Christians are trying to shove NOTHING down anyone's throats. We just want dipsticks like you to keep your grubby little meat-beaters off of already existing things, regardless where they are.

The attempted removal of only Christian items IS persecution, and your dishonest attempt to compare this to the Holocaust just shows how much class you don't have.

No, you're just crying wolf. I'm sorry, crying persecution.

"But these are already existing things"
SO WAS SLAVERY.
Doesn't make it right.

So quit your whining.

I would have addressed your question had you not reverted to name calling and slang "STFU" so I will "STFU"... so maybe God willing... you will!

You're the one who's putting words in my mouth, claiming that I don't understand "freedom to worship," and when asked to back up your claims, you have NOTHING. You're simply dodging the question now. You have nothing to back that up, so now you're going to make up this nonsense. "Oooh, I'd answer your question, but you said STFU."

:BS:

You're full of it.
