Instead of going after serious dealers, Canadian police and their kids are manufacturing threats among the young and the poor, chasing rabbits and destroying our potential.

This is a very sad statistic.

The staggering cost of illicit drug toxicity in Canada, especially among young people, is laid bare in new research published Monday that highlights rapid increases in opioid-related deaths with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic

Lets take this back to the 1960’s when hippies discovered drugs

Society chose to be permissive and that decision haunts us now

Darn, if only some good could come out of this and save the taxpayer $$$.

People have always found vices. Do you remember how successful prohibition was? It made the mob rich. This is the same for other poisons.

The issue today is that there are foreign governments funding the movement of deadly poisons. They aren't looking for repeat business. They want to destroy society and they are succeeding.

It is the role of government and police agencies to prevent this. It is the job of politicians to punish foreign governments who succeed in their efforts. It is the job of society to generate awareness and give people hope, provide the conditions for successful businesses and careers, innovation etc.

We have failed on multiple fronts.

i'm filing this common sense suggestion for one of those suggestion box bonuses.

louisiana has had "old sparky" at angola totally renovated but is "studying" the use of nitrogen.

and it seems we've had to release dozens of these guys because they just were not guilty.

i tend to agree with you, but find it odd that most of our conservatives here , who can not agree with me that government has a role in public health, are the ones demanding government protect their children.

"i am not responsible" trump

If the cartels started selling cyanide laced Whitman's Samplers would you change your tune?

I dont claim to have all the answers but if we had adopted zero tolerance in the 1960s we would not see the drug plague in cities like san Francisco today
They used to have an abundance of underground, home made brewers in which many people died due to bad batches. Did you know that cocaine, morphine and opium used was used in high volume in the 1920s? New Orleans was a hotbed for it back then. People can even sniff glue if they want.

Our species is flawed. Addictions aren't easy to reign in.
