On New Year’s Day in 1863, the Republican Party’s Emancipation Proclamation came into effect. While Republicans rejoiced, Democrat politicians and newspapers denounced President Abraham Lincoln (R-IL) for freeing slaves. Demonstrating their depravity, New York’s Gov. Horatio Seymour, who would be the 1868 Democrat presidential nominee, denounced the Emancipation Proclamation as “a proposal for the butchery of women and children.” The Louisville Daily Democrat called it “an outrage of all constitutional law, all human justice, all Christian feeling.” Although this is often ignored by the revisionists in academia Republicans led the charge on civil rights and women’s rights.

Hmm...., One hundred fifty seven years gives Democrats a lot of time to spin the events of that day. 157 years later and politics from the Democrat Left is still trying through unconstitutional regulations to enslave people and free thought. Republicans freed the slaves and the democrats have been working to keep them on the plantations ever since by creating plantation city ghettos.
Indeed, Republicans freed the slaves from their Democratic Party masters! And then the treasonous Democrats began enacting Jim Crow laws so that the freed slaves couldn't defend themselves. ALL unconstitutional democratic party gun control laws originally were aimed against slaves and then freed slaves. And now the treasonous democratic party wants us all restricted/disarmed in order to enslave all - regardless of race, creed or color.
Progressive Marxist Socialist/ DSA Democrats = Slavery, KKK, assassination of President Lincoln and the assassination of JFK because he threatened to expose the Deep State in the early 1960s, welfare/plantation mentality programs, murdering of 55 Million unborn (including the next cure for all cancers, warp drive for intergalactic travel, end hunger once and for all, etc.), undermining the entire Republic to try and convert it into a totalitarian socialistic state, and the list goes on. LBJ was right there to implement all that JFK refused to implement including expansion of the war in Vietnam.

It is the modern-day Democrat that is quick to tear down statues of people who owned slaves. They site a “racist” past and legacy that must be eradicated. Based in their logic, shouldn’t the Democrat Party rename itself given its history for supporting Slavery and fighting Civil Rights?

It only freed slaves in areas occupied by United States Military. It did not, for example, end slavery in Delaware. Yes, Delaware was a slave state. Delaware even voted to reject the 13th Amendment. Delaware - Slavery, the Civil War, and Reconstruction
