On the two most important issues only one is right

You mean like when the day after Obama was elected, the mess Bush created was suddenly the new guy's fault? That kind of responsibility? Don't believe me, just do a search of threads dated around about that time. Somehow Bush's incompetence became Obama's fault. He's still paying for it now...Obama that is, Bush is laughing all the way to the bank..
No, I mean like how even after almost three years of Obama's meddling in the economy, it's still Bush's fault.

Don't believe me? Look at the posts by the Obamabots in here. Yours included.

You think anybody could have done better. Or are you one of these neocon whackjobs who say "just fix it" but don't offer up any solutions, or more likely, have no idea how to fix it?

Not a huge fan of Obama, but the alternative was much worse.

And do you really expect the mess Bush created to be fixed within 3 years? RATFLMAO..you're either naive or a fool - maybe both...
You know what's naive and foolish?

Electing an empty suit because he reads stirring speeches off a Teleprompter.

You know what is naive and foolish?

An American spitting on democracy because his side didnt win.

Leftists don't do responsibility and accountability. They blame others for their failures. Every time.

Did you really think that 8 years of utter incompetence that damn near collapsed the Global Economy is easy to fix? Only on the Limbaugh show.

"Massive legal and illegal immigration has already so changed the California electorate that no Republican can be elected statewide anymore. Not so long ago, this was a state that produced great Republican governors and senators like Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, S.I. Hayakawa and Pete Wilson.

"Only Michele Bachmann and Mitt Romney aren’t trying to sneak through amnesty for
illegal aliens. Both support E-Verify."

CA just passed the law that gives free college to illegals. CA is also bankrupt. If/when the GOP wins in 2012 CA is toast. No more freebies. reality bites. the dems will see CA turn GOP and really cut spending. The party is almost over in CA.

Why do ya'll feel the need to lie? Undocumented students do not get "free" college, they get to pay in-state tuition. (in a state they live and work in)

What "freebies" exactly? California is one of the states who pays more to the Federal government than they get back.

Where did I do that?

Oh, yeah. I didn't.

Meanwhile, you voted for an empty suit. Well, not quite empty -- it was filled with rainbows and unicorns and leg-tingles.

And you'll vote for him again, just as you're programmed to do.

Did you really think that a speech-reader and avid golfer could fix anything? Obama is out of touch with reality. He's an ideologue. Party first, country second.

It's inarguable.

Yes he COULD have done much, much better. He forced through legislation that few wanted that enriced the health insurance companies while lowering the health care that people will recieve while increasing their out of pocket cost.

He squandered hundreds of billions of dollars on make work bullshit that had no effect on the economy other than to increase the country's debt load which will in the long run have a negative impact.

His domestic tax policies are chaotic at best so small businesses don't know what to do so they sit on their cash waiting for some semblence of sanity so they can either shut down or expand. So far the only people who have benefitted really well are Obama cronies and big multi national corporations.

He's quickly turning ths country into a proper Third World economy. I will grant you he didn't start that process but he's accelerating it.

Welcome to how Obama must have been feeling on Jan 21st 2009....

Actually, had he been intelligent he could have had a profound impact on the country in a positive way. Instead he reverted to typical "Chicago Machine" politics and enriched his friends and supporters at the expense of the American Taxpayer.

It truly is sad. He had the opportunity to be counted among the very best presidents we have ever had and instead he squandered that opportunity.

Oh, please, give me a break. The conservative's Wall St buddies, plus a GOP congress has hog tied him at every opportunity.....

Please give an example of something he could have done that would have fixed things quick. Remember, everybody wants the giant fuck up that was the GFC to be fixed in no time...

Of course they have. They recognise crony capitalism when they see it. OK, let's look at his 800 billion dollar stimulous. Instead of giving that money to his donors and cronies he could have done major infrastructure upgrades to this country (which actually could use some) that would have employed thousands of people nationwide and that would have kept small businesses running nationwide.

Instead he gave that money to his buddies (for the most part, he had to give some to a few others to make it look good) and after three years what was accomplished with that money? There are a few roads that were upgraded but other than that you will be hard pressed to find ANYTHING that was done with that cash. It simply disappeared.

For the first year Obama is not responsible, after that it's on his shoulders baby. He has made some incredibly stupid decisions that will cost this country dearly. I am very disappointed in him.

I said on this very board on at least two occasions just before Obama was elected that I hoped he lost. Not because McCain was better but because even three years ago I knew it would take the best part of a decade to fix it and that whoever became president would wear it. I make Nostradameus look like Madame Marie on the New Jersey foreshore. You guys are so predictable it's almost nauseating.

And it is not on his shoulders if the fuck up is that big it takes more than 12 months to fix it..

Please tell me the stupid decisions and how things could have been fixed quicker/better...take your time...

I have on two posts for you. No one expected him to weild a magic brush and make everything better. What he has done has made things significantly worse. On his watch home values have continued to plummet (down 50% in three years), on his watch health care costs are going to skyrocket, on his watch he actually stated that energy costs will "NECCESSARILY soar to further his green energy goals. Why? So his buddies at Solyndra and Fisker can take a billion dollars and run with it? Ahh, OK, I see that is why our energy costs have to soar, so his buddies can take our money and get wealthy for doing basically nothing...I get it.

I can go on and on and on. This is political corruption on a grand scale...just like is practiced in Africa. And yes, I spent years in Africa and know of what I speak.

Unlike Cheneys' Halliburton connection, or Baby Bush having a energy forum run by the energy sector, which was a closed door to the press and US public. He more or less gave them carte blanche to write their own policy..

Yeah, I know, really short sighted of Obama to think of alternative energy sources. After all, oil is going to last for ever right?

As for corruption - you type of political system is ripe for it. You can't help but have it. Lobby groups, any one??

Alternative energy sources that cost 20 times more then the fossil fuels that ARE READILY available is moronic. Yes, fossil fuels will eventually run out....maybe. However, the US has enough natural gas to keep us going for around 150 to 200 years. We have coal for 500 years. There's enough oil in Canada to supply us for at least 60 years.

All of this cheaply. So cheaply that we could then invest in real research for a new technology that is truly revolutionary. Electric vehicles are a joke. They were all the rage 100 YEARS ago but they are a bit long in the tooth now. They cost 3 times as much to travel a comperable distance as a ICE powered vehicle. They cost 7 times as much as a comperable vehicle thus placing them beyond the reach of your average family.

They wear out in 7 to ten years and have ZERO resale value so are thus a major problem to dispose of. They are toxic waste nightmares and are far more damaging to the environment to produce then a Hummer. But hey, we can ignore all that in an effort to feel good about ourselves....right?

No one is against doing good research to replace fossil fuels. However the way the greenies are going about it causes more environmental damage BY FAR, then the problem they are trying to fix.

That is simply stupid. If you care about the environment then conserve it in a proper way that actually saves it. What they do is ridiculous and extraordinarily harmful to the environment. It does allow them to take our tax dollars though. It certainly does that!

Corruption in governement? So what else is new. Take a look at your own country. You get to pay a nice new hefty carbon tax and the ploiticians who passed it are going to make millions off of that. You see they are principle investors in the businesses that are going to profit...from the new laws that they passed...to make you have to enrich them. Nice little scam eh?

I showed you how the stimulous could have been useful. Are you blind or willfully ignorant?

I destroyed my knee in New Zealand a few years ago. The hospital in Christchurch (where I lived at the time) was unable to do anything other than wrap it in an Ace bandage and give me a brace. I asked the doctor (a very friendly, though harried, chap) what the rich folks do and he said "they go to America for surgeries like yours".

I'll stick with my system. I want to live. Had I been in New Zealand or Oz last year I would be stone cold dead and buried. Here in the States I was walking around a month after my open heart surgery.

Interesting experience, but total BS. I know of a few folk that have had open heart surgery -very successfully in NZ. Your experience is not the norm. I know people who have had transplants at Greenlane hospital in Auckland. Go to America? Possible, but rare. You want to talk about poor people in the US getting great medical care? Or medical fuck ups in the US. I'd google and show you the results, but i'd be here all day...

Australia is not my country, and one of my pet peeves - compared to NZ - is its political system. Yep, open to corruption. However, I am in favour of the carbon tax. How are the pollies going to make millions? How are they gonna be enriched?

How soon some forget that it's congress that holds the purse strings and makes the biggest impact. Obama was part of the Democrat majority rule since 2007. Think again about who he inherited problems from. Himself, among other Dems.
