I have on two posts for you. No one expected him to weild a magic brush and make everything better. What he has done has made things significantly worse. On his watch home values have continued to plummet (down 50% in three years), on his watch health care costs are going to skyrocket, on his watch he actually stated that energy costs will "NECCESSARILY soar to further his green energy goals. Why? So his buddies at Solyndra and Fisker can take a billion dollars and run with it? Ahh, OK, I see that is why our energy costs have to soar, so his buddies can take our money and get wealthy for doing basically nothing...I get it.

I can go on and on and on. This is political corruption on a grand scale...just like is practiced in Africa. And yes, I spent years in Africa and know of what I speak.

Alternative energy sources that cost 20 times more then the fossil fuels that ARE READILY available is moronic. Yes, fossil fuels will eventually run out....maybe. However, the US has enough natural gas to keep us going for around 150 to 200 years. We have coal for 500 years. There's enough oil in Canada to supply us for at least 60 years.

All of this cheaply. So cheaply that we could then invest in real research for a new technology that is truly revolutionary. Electric vehicles are a joke. They were all the rage 100 YEARS ago but they are a bit long in the tooth now. They cost 3 times as much to travel a comperable distance as a ICE powered vehicle. They cost 7 times as much as a comperable vehicle thus placing them beyond the reach of your average family.

They wear out in 7 to ten years and have ZERO resale value so are thus a major problem to dispose of. They are toxic waste nightmares and are far more damaging to the environment to produce then a Hummer. But hey, we can ignore all that in an effort to feel good about ourselves....right?

No one is against doing good research to replace fossil fuels. However the way the greenies are going about it causes more environmental damage BY FAR, then the problem they are trying to fix.

I destroyed my knee in New Zealand a few years ago. The hospital in Christchurch (where I lived at the time) was unable to do anything other than wrap it in an Ace bandage and give me a brace. I asked the doctor (a very friendly, though harried, chap) what the rich folks do and he said "they go to America for surgeries like yours".

I'll stick with my system. I want to live. Had I been in New Zealand or Oz last year I would be stone cold dead and buried. Here in the States I was walking around a month after my open heart surgery.

Interesting experience, but total BS. I know of a few folk that have had open heart surgery -very successfully in NZ. Your experience is not the norm. I know people who have had transplants at Greenlane hospital in Auckland. Go to America? Possible, but rare. You want to talk about poor people in the US getting great medical care? Or medical fuck ups in the US. I'd google and show you the results, but i'd be here all day...

Of course it's rare. Only the rich can afford to do it skippy. If you have weeks to prepare for open heart surgery then yes the care is fine. I had less then ten minutes.
They tell me that had I waited for an ambulance I would not have made it. I drove myself to the hospital at 1 in the morning and it is the longest thirty miles I've ever driven.

If you're poor you walk into an emergency room and get treated. It's the law. No one can deny you. If they brought a poor person into the Carson Tahoe hospital with my condition he or she would have been treated by the exact same doctor as me. He or she would have been placed in the exact same cardiac unit and recieved the exact same level of care. Gratis. No matter what you read in the lefty blogs that is the LAW of this land.

That homeless man? He got treatment.... and will still be homeless. A working class person with shitty or no health insurance will also get treatment... but will probably end up homeless because the bill collectors will come knocking to pay for that treatment. That homeless man? He got treatment.... and will still be homeless. A working class person with shitty or no health insurance will also get treatment... but will probably end up homeless because the bill collectors will come knocking to pay for that treatment. Your problem then is you can't truly think for yourself and that is sad. All people have agendas. Mine is to get science back in the good graces of the People. The CLIMATEGATE emails have done severe damage to science in general. I'm a environmental geologist and heave spent my whole career teaching corporations and individuals how to get what they want, and need, without destroying the environment.

The climatologists have done immense damage to the credibility of science as a whole. Read anywhere and the polls will tell you that scientists are held in low esteem by those who can benefit most.

I have worked at the frontline of conservation for around 40 years now and these assholes have put that work in jeapordy. We were making good progress in limiting the damage that is done by industry and that has been pretty much demolished by the so called green movement.

Now if you really want to see catastrophic environmental damage being done on a grand scale you don't go look at a coal fired power plant...go look at a solar cell production facility. They are toxic waste nightmares.

That is my agenda, to limit the environmental damage that man causes. The green movement could care less about that. The want control of people in the worst instances and cold hard cash in the best case. Either way the planet and the environment sufffer under them.

You must ASSUME that EVERYONE has an agenda...because they do! Your obligation is to get as much information from as many disparate sources as possible and check out what they have to say. You do the work neccessary to confirm or deny what they have to say.

Eventually you will come to a conclusion about who is the most truthful (if that truly matters to you) and you can move on from there. Otherwise you remain a uninformed drone who just go's along with the "consensus" whatever that may be. The last time the greenies got one of their programs passed into law the State of California made it a law that MTBE had to put into the gasoline as an oxygenate.

We scientists told them that MTBE was a terrible carcinogen and poison but they ignored us and believed the greenies, even though they had no real science to back them up. 10 years later they were forced to remove the MTBE after unknown billions of dollars in environmental damage had been done and thousands of water wells were poisoned throughout the State.

That is the type of mistake I am trying to prevent yet again.
