America seems determined to become more and more barbaric. This proves it.
No, it doesn't.

You (Australia) were doing similar things, and worse, within Living Memory.

When you've been Capital Punishment -free for, oh, say, 200 years or more, then you can start criticizing others regarding their barbarity.

Until then, you're just another recently-set-aside Capital Punishment country, trying to delude itself that it's superior to those who still have Capital Punishment on the books.

Your last execution was February, 1967, and you hung yours with a rope; breaking Ronald Ryan's neck; a far more grizzly and agonizing end to a life, then either instantaneous electrocution or lethal injection under anesthetic.

You Euros and Aussies (including immigrants from the domains of Islam, where it's even worse), acting all pompous and self-righteous about Capital Punishment, when you've done much worse, and within Living Memory, really crack me up, when you start clucking your tongues and wagging your fingers at us.

ZAAAAPPPPP!!!!.....Well done!

Tennessee has decided to bring back the electric chair. Republican Gov. Bill Haslam on Thursday signed a bill into law allowing the state to electrocute death row inmates in the event the state is unable to obtain drugs used for lethal injections. […] Richard Dieter, the executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, said Tennessee is the first state to enact a law to reintroduce the electric chair without giving prisoners an option. …

America becomes more barbaric with a step backwards.

Why don't we just start Thunderdome? Put a couple of inmates in a pit and throw a trident in between them. "Two men enter, one man leaves." Corporations can sell commercial space, there can be online gambling on who will win, there are billions of dollars to be made on this. And since we've already legalized torture and killing civilians in endless war via remote-controlled flying robots, we shouldn't have any moral dilemma over watching murderers murder each other for our good moral Christian entertainment.
