Supreme Court rejects Exxon Mobil appeal in climate case

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to take up a case in which Exxon Mobil Corp. is trying to stop Massachusetts’s demand for documents from it in a climate change investigation.

The announcement in the case, Exxon Mobil Corp. v. Healey, came without explanation, as is the court’s usual practice. Four of the high court’s nine judges would have had to vote in favor of taking the case for it to be put in the docket.

Amen! Let's see Mann present his "Evidence!"

The world demands energy in order to function at all, and has for all of it's time man has been here, and Exxon has been one of the providers. So what?

Exxon Mobil Corp. v. Healey - Climate Change Litigation
Frankly there needs to be much more information about this law suit in order to intelligently comment on it.

I can say the left intends to litigate the issues it cannot win politically and the Supreme Court is going to become
a battlefield as global warming, the 2nd Amendment, wealth redistribution, etc. are coming up and it's not hyperbolic to say the course of the nation is imperiled by leftist legal actions.

More accurately, right wing pandering to oil companies is imperiled by our laws.

So the lawyers for Exxon Mobil Corp. had weak constitutional arguments? Oh my!

Yes, well, we have been observing that for two solid years. It is just one of their many insidious tactics (corruption is another one) to regain power and destroy the enemy. To say the left cares about the well being of Americans is akin to saying terrorists want to make peace with Israel.

Mann already has.

Where the hell have you been?

It's always hilarious when people try to imply that a court ruling means something other than what it does.

All SCOTUS ruled ere is that one side has the right to see research from another side, it's' not like SCOTUS came out here and said "okay yall Al Gore was right all along, we order all Americans to believe in man made climate change"

Two Imbeciles agree that somehow hyperbole is not hyperbole, if one states it with enough conviction. Even Donald Trump knows how to make hyperbole fun - He calls his lies and exaggerations -Truthful Hyperbole

Ruth Bader Ginsburg missed oral arguments in a case for the very first time in her career.
Will she make it to the finish line and last out until the next election? Will it do her any good if Trump stays in office?

With John Roberts looking more and more like
another disastrous bequeathal from the Bush administration Why Is John Roberts Siding With the Supreme Court’s Liberals? we could use another solid reliable conservative vote on the bench.

Otherwise we could wind up with energy providers being sued on behalf of the earth itself for promoting global warming.
We could see the court rule that free speech is not an absolute right if your words hurt other people and children are free to decide for themselves which gender they wish to be, or be any gender at all.

A leftist court court do any of these things and with a more radical Congress under democrat control all they might.

These cases seem absurd to normal people, but the left would love to see the courts implement their insanity.

Surprise, surprise!

Looks like exxon has been lying to everyone. Including investors.

Looks like all of us who have been trying to get people to listen about climate change and do something about it were right all along. It is real, humans and fossil fuels are causing it.

exxon has known for decades what fossil fuels do to the planet and even acknowledged we need to reduce the use of fossil fuels to mitigate climate change in internal documents dating as far back as from the 1970s and 1980s. exxon knew climate change was real and being caused by fossil fuels decades ago but lied about the whole thing for decades. Sounds a lot like the tobacco industry and what they did with tobacco for so many decades while they knew exactly what their product was and does to humans.

Now the AG of Massachusetts and New York are investigating. The Supreme Court refused to hear exxon's appeal of the Mass Supreme Court ruling they must hand over documents to the Massachusetts AG.
