Looks like the State Dept is unionized? Impossible to really fire anyone, they just shuffle them to a new desk, like all other unions.

==============================

The four officials supposedly out of jobs because of their blunders in the run-up to the deadly Benghazi terror attack remain on the State Department payroll — and will all be back to work soon, The Post has learned.

The highest-ranking official caught up in the scandal, Assistant Secretary of State Eric Boswell, has not “resigned” from government service, as officials said last week. He is just switching desks. And the other three are simply on administrative leave and are expected back.

The four were made out to be sacrificial lambs in the wake of a scathing report issued last week that found that the US compound in Benghazi, Libya, was left vulnerable to attack because of “grossly inadequate” security.

State Department leaders “didn’t come clean about Benghazi and now they’re not coming clean about these staff changes,” a source close to the situation told The Post., adding, the “public would be outraged over this.”

US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the Sept. 11 attack, originally blamed on a spontaneous demonstration against a US-made anti-Islam video that got out of hand.

That version was dismissed by an Accountability Review Board headed by retired Ambassador Thomas Pickering.

In response to questions from The Post, the State Department would only reissue the carefully crafted statement put out last week.

Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton “has accepted Eric Boswell’s decision to resign as assistant secretary for diplomatic security, effective immediately.” What Nuland omitted was that Boswell gave up only the presidential appointment as assistant secretary, not his other portfolios.

The other officials — Deputy Assistant Secretaries Charlene Lamb and Raymond Maxwell, and a third who has not been identified — were found to have shown “performance inadequacies” but not “willful misconduct,” Pickering said, so they would not face discipline.

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.) told The Post this is “yet another ruse about the tragedy of Benghazi.”

“State Department officials proclaimed . . . that heads would roll . . . Now we see that the discipline is a lie and all that has happened is the shuffling of the deck chairs.”

Thought the State Department, part of Govt, couldn't unionize??

As for anyone being held accountable for the deaths of those four men?? Don't hold your breath. They are just thanking God they weren't the folks in that consulate. That they weren't the ones waiting for their State Department and President to issue to orders orders to save em.

[Obama the magician at it now, making Benghazi go away, what you thought you saw, you actually didn't really see, maybe "It was a weather balloon", or smoke and mirrors, the Santa Claus costume be cast temporarily off to the side.
How many lambs did Obama shear to get enough wool for this laugher. And you really think Hillary is going to somehow appear in front of Congress to explain her role in Benghazi? If she appears it'll be in front of the Senate only and the boys like 'lil' Chuckie Schumer, Lizzie "Fauxcahontas Warren, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer and Patty Murray will spend so much of the committee time tonguewashing Hillary and grooming her locks you'll be lucky if enough time will be left for her to testify to her being Hillary Clinton. Sorta "Depends on what the meaning of 'is' is" time again, aint it? 'Bammy, he be leadin' America down the Rabbithole again.]

"Benghazi misdirection

There was always a whiff of misdirection in connection with the story that four State Department officials at or below the Assistant Secretary level would lose their jobs over the Benghazi killings. After all, it is highly likely that officials further up the chain knew of the dangerous situation in Benghazi and, quite possibly, of the requests for additional security there. Thus, there was reason to suspect that the State Department was using the lower level officials to erect a “firewall” to protect the “higher ups.”

But according to the New York Post, the misdirection goes deeper because the four officials who reported were ousted actually will remain at the State Department:

The highest-ranking official caught up in the scandal, Assistant Secretary of State Eric Boswell, has not “resigned” from government service, as officials said last week. He is just switching desks. And the other three are simply on administrative leave and are expected back.

The four were made out to be sacrificial lambs in the wake of a scathing report issued last week that found that the US compound in Benghazi, Libya, was left vulnerable to attack because of “grossly inadequate” security.

The same little governmental slight of hand was at work at State shortly after John Bolton resigned as UN Ambassador
In Ambassador Bolton's book, "Surrender Is Not An Option" he more or less definitively identified certain State department officials who were afflicted with' Clientitis", a disease peculiar to the diplomatic corps where the official becomes so involved in the region of the world or country he specializes in at State, that he can no longer effectively function representing the interests of the United States. One of States named 'clientitis' afflicted employees suddenly turned up after the book was published as one of the authors of the last NIE of the Bush Presidency, which strangely declared that Iran had absolutely and unequivocally abandoned any and all pursuits of nuclear technology, with which the Democrats made much mirth and merriment at the time. 56 per cent of CNN's viewers actually believed Susan Rices five station stop tour of lies the Sunday after Benghazi, that's something the Democrats routinely count on as well as their constituents unflinching belief that there is a government Santa Claus.
John Kerry is obviously not the only one who should have been stood in front of a firing squad for their nefarious actions. A long time ago, when i was far more naive, a close friend in DC whose work caused him to tangentially brush up against America's intelligence apparatus every now and then pointed out there were people in DC who would sell their soul and their country out if they thought their actions would give their political party one leg up on the other.
We've got a game of fox and the hounds going on with Benghazi. Obama, the fox, knows what went on in Benghazi but doesn't want anyone else to have a clue because it might explode and cover him with some noxious substance if the lid should come off, and the closer the hounds get to pinning the fox and his container of nefarious secrets into a corner it cannot escape from, the more aberrant will be the fox's behavior and subsequent excuses. Will we see more rabbits pulled out of hats at 1600 Pennsylvania, doves from handkerchiefs in the immediate future, or tanks on every streetcorner with Michelle O on the only Government allowed TV channel telling us that "From now on in America, all ways are Baracks ways"

It smells and feels more like 1861 with every passing day.
