Obomination: U.S. Water Bills To Triple...

the size of government has expanded more under GOP leadership than under Dem leadership. deficit spending has also ballooned more under GOP leadership than Dem leadership.

budget_deficit_or_surplus.gif

Obamas went up as a result of trying to stop a depression, what was the excuse of Reagan and the Bush's?

Horseshit. Democrats controlled Congress when most of the spending occurred:

obama-deficit-20101+congress.jpg
you say its congress now, well if its congress, and the house controls the purse strings, why are we still having deficits? congress changed in 2011, to a split congress.

and now by your logic youre saying that during the reagan years everything that happened with the budget was due to the dems in congress? reagan had nothing to do with it? you cant have it both ways. you cant blame the president when hes a dem, and then when it changes to a rep switch over and blame congress. so who is more at fault for deficits? congress or the president?

also...why doesnt your graph take into account a split congress?

Big Government Globalists are destroying our Nation. Whether it's the Socialists/Progressives or Neocons, they're both destroying us. We should all be able to agree on that fact.

$16 Trillion in Debt, and we still have infrastructure problems? Gee, go figure? Good job Big Government.
its called the 2001/2003 tax cuts, the wars in iraq and afghanistan, and medicare part d. these are the 3 leading drivers of our current debt and deficit problems.

Yet you want Big Government even bigger. Yeah, you really have drank the Socialist/Progressive Kool-Aid. More Taxes and More Spending will never = Good responsible Governance. It's not their Money, therefore they will just blow it. One day you'll see that. I'm confident in that.
First of all, this is a local or region issue, not a federal government issue. Also all water companies are not all government owned. Many are investor owned. If you look at the actual report, http://www.awwa.org/files/GovtPublicAffairs/GADocuments/BuriedNoLongerCompleteFinal.pdf
you will see the cost are spread over 25 years, but could be spread over a longer period. The cost are based on a lot of assumptions such as expected population growth, pipe age, and type of pipes. The estimates seem to be more a guesstimate than an estimate.

I really don't see how this a political issue. This is a local problem that has been developing for over a hundred years.

i personally think its money and greed that do it. no one gets into politics to actually make a difference anymore, they do it because its a path to wealth. look at how many millionaires there are in the house and senate....

Can't argue with you on that. Money & Power. It's what most of it is about. We can agree on that.

I can almost agree with you. Globalists are definitely most of the problem in many parts of the world. The thing that makes them most toxic to any society they get their hooks into is that unlike a democratic representative government there is no election to correct problems. It's the old "Does profit based solutions really always provide good results?" vs "Can government based COMONS infrastructure perform effeciently enough?".

It takes an enormous ammount of financing to build and maintain water, sewage, power grid and highway infrastructure. If you live out in the boonies and have a well.. and a personal hydro electric generator..or a few miles of roads on your property that only you use( and I have lived in that environment ) it seems like an imposition to pay for the "comons". BUT most Americans do not live in the little house on the prarie. We have to act collectively to have the means to live like we do. So what it boils down to is quality of service. The only ways for the global corporatists to make profit is to raise prices or cut service and maintenance.

I prefer as high a quality in service as possible.

We barely blink an eye when we hear of a place like Bahgdad where they have power for a few hours a day. It takes a lot of money to keep what we have working. Consider how it must be like to have a Haliburton calling the shots when you might need electricity or some clean water and it isn't cost effective for them to provide it when you need it.

We don't have to go back too far in our own country to the Enron debacle to see that multinational corporations cannot be trusted to proved the most economic and dependable infrastructure.

Man, you have got to be the biggest hack on the entire board. Infrastructure is vital in delivering potable water to citizens. Millions of US citizens live in areas where water HAS to be brought in via infrastructure. Infrastructure has to be updated or repaired from time to time so that it stays in working order. And yes, it costs money. Please tell me how it's Obama's fault that this country's infrastructure has been neglected for decades.

Don't worry, I don't expect you to actually answer the question. Now be a good hack and give me your usual "Obamabot is crashing, needs to reboot" deflection.

Well you are an Obama-Bot, but i'll try to answer anyway. They could have upgraded the infrastructure a long time ago. Where did all the Taxpayer Cash go all those years? Now it's suddenly a 'Crisis', and Taxpayers will see their water Bills triple in cost? Why didn't they work on the infrastructure when they were taking in all that Tax Revenue in the past? This will be a huge burden on struggling American Families. As usual, the Taxpayer will be punished for inept & corrupt Big Government. It just isn't right.

Right, they could have updated the infrastructure years ago; but they didn't. That much I knew. The question I asked was, how is this Obama's fault? By the way, I do find it ironic that in the very thread that you started, bitching about the cost of repairing and updating the infrastructure, you're now complaining that 'they' didn't spend the money to fix the infrastructure fast enough.:lol::lol: You're not too consistent.

How many times did Obama hit up the American taxpayer for "infrastructure" with "shovel ready jobs"? On one of them, the gov't invested more in "signs" than it did on any particular project. So, yes it is Obama's fault and that is why. He said he wanted to upgrade the infrastructure, once, twice, three times and was given money. It went out of the country, it went to corporate buddies in green energy and to unions propping, very little of it went to infrastructure. But don't let facts get in your way, this guy sees himself as the next "caliphate" and is working to take the world, you are just his stepping stole to get him there.

How many "stimulus" packages "to pay for the infrastructure" are we supposed to fall for? Now he wants to promote algae fuel as a way to embezzle more tax dollars to his personal wealth. How many will be voting for him, knowing how corrupt he is?

The algae - or bio - fuel that Republicans used to support before Obama supported it? The bio-fuel that is indeed a viable alternative to fossil fuel? The bio-fuel that big oil has been working on for years? :eusa_whistle:

Yes, and when it was feasible, it would come to market. Now, there will be big Obama donators given taxpayer money to "rush" it, and "their companies" will declare bankrupcy, and you will still think his shit smells like flowers.

More bad news: U.S. water bills to triple.

First high gas prices, now water. A shocking new report about the nation's crumbling drinking water system says that Americans should expect their bills to double or triple to cover repairs just to keep their faucets pouring. That means adding up to $900 a year more for water, nearly equal the amount of the newly extended payroll tax cut.

Fixing and expanding underground drinking water systems will cost over $1 trillion in the next 25 years and users will get socked with the bill, according to the American Water Works Association...

What kind of stress? Families can expect to pay at least $300-$550 more for water in taxes and fees just to keep their current systems operating. Add growth and improved systems, and that bill jumps to $900 for a family of three, said the report.

I seriously doubt you're a Homeowner. You're clearly too dumb to have the means to own your own Home. So this likely doesn't even concern you. You're an Entitlement/Moocher Democrat. So come back and discuss adult issues when you become an adult. Talk to me then.

Bull, there is no crisis. These pipes have been deteriorating for many decades. Yes, in some area it's a serious problem, but the fault does not lie with the current administration or for that matter with either political party. The fault lies with your local or state government or water company who did not put in sufficient infrastructure to support grow and provide for replacement of deteriorating pipes.

you missed the part of the argument where they claimed that the obama administration and democrats have infiltrated all levels of government in an effort to undermine conservative and push big government ideals upon the rest of the country.....

The seeds for a lot of big government spending comes from state and local government. Then if there are enough trade associations and business with enough bucks, they will buy the media and congress. It doesn't matter which party controls congress, votes are always for sale.

He said he wanted to upgrade the infrastructure, once, twice, three times and was given money. It went out of the country, it went to corporate buddies in green energy and to unions propping, very little of it went to infrastructure.
And do you have a creditable source to support your claim?

Brazil oil drilling, Chevy oversease factories, Solindra and the other "green energy" places that have declared bankrupcy after receiving millions and billions of dollars from the TAXPAYER, state educators jobs saved, egads man, don't you pay attention?

You're still not presenting any creditable source to support your argument.
