Minutes of the meeting on January 11, 1996, of the New Partys Chicago chapterBarack Obama, candidate for State Senate in the 13th Legislative District, gave a statement to the membership and answered questions. He signed the New Party Candidate Contract and requested an endorsement from the New Party. He also joined the New Party.1`
Recently obtained evidence from the updated records of Illinois ACORN at the Wisconsin Historical Society now definitively establishes that Obama was a member of the New Party. He also signed a contract promising to publicly support and associate himself with the New Party while in office.

Anyone who was in the New Party during that time has denied the above allegations.
The New Party was a radical left organization, established in 1992, to amalgamate far left groups and push the United States into socialism by forcing the Democratic Party to the left. It was an attempt to regroup*the forces on the left in a new strategy to take power, burrowing from within.
Heavy-Handed Politics
This was first proposed by Norman Thomas a former Leader of the Socialist Party.
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."
"I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform." Although I do believe that Obama was a member of the New Party and signed their contract, let us say he didn't.
Do you believe that the New Party would endorse a candidate that did not espouse their Socialist views? I don't believe they would.
In my opinion, he was and still is a Socialist.
