Obama's Arrogance and Ignorance caused the Mid-East Meltdown

When Obama swaggered into office a few short years ago, the world was relatively stable. Then Obama began with his world apology tour, his announcement to Iran to meet with no pre-conditions. Then came "Arab Spring", his alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood, Pulling all troops from Iraq, "ISIS is the J.V." and a host of other stupid foreign policy decisions.

After 7 years of this human disaster in charge the Middle East is burning, borders are being redrawn, everyone is shooting at everyone Russia and China are now allies and Iran is sitting pretty with their Nuclear Program intact, sanctions lifted and money flowing like water. Add to that the Refugee crisis that is going to completely redefine Europe over the next 10 years and ALL OF IT is tied to this academic Liberal buffoon as POTUS for two terms. You never realize how important a leader is until you have a REAAAALLLLLY BAD ONE.

There's a movie title from 1989 that SO much reminds me of conservatives' collective approach to political discourse: Say Anything.

Let me try it a couple of times.

The 2003 invasion of Iraq was the culmination of the most brilliant longterm strategic thinking which was conducted with the most meticulous planning by forward-looking men with a firm grasp of the history of the area and its people.

Here's a shorter one:

George W. Bush is the finest president this country has ever produced.

See? I said it so it must be true.

What's probably more accurate is to say that some people will agree with it or buy it. Maybe Barbara Bush. But aside from her, it's a hard sell because invading Iraq was a FUBAR of monumental proportions of which America is going to be forced to deal with for decades to come.

Yeah, let's elect another conservative, folks!

Obama won the election BECAUSE he said he'd get us out of the Mid East . The biggest stat we should care about is US troop deaths . Iraq went from like 300 dead soldiers in 2010 to like 5 this year.

Screw throwing more lives into that Hornets nest . Let Russia n Iran put troops down. They should . ISIS is way more a threat to them .
A tragic milestone was reached last year, when 185 active-duty Army soldiers died by suicide, surpassing the 176 soldiers killed in battle in Afghanistan that year. The Army's annual death toll from suicide has more than tripled since 2001, when 52 active-duty soldiers took their own lives.

As Obabble babbles the Rooskies are kicking some serious ISIS ass in Syria, taking out command centers, training camps and logistic posts. Once again Putin is showing the want to be Boy King how it's done

Hardly. So far Putin's forces seem to be killing civilians and missing ISIS targets completely.

The Russians went into Syria to help Assad, not to destroy ISIS.

The right wing worship of Putin, who is a despot, is somewhat surprising. But then Republicans have always been a fan of murderous dictators, at least those who aren't communist.

Us non-progressives can't help it if our commander in chief is a race baiting, whiny, cult following(belief in man made global warming/cooling) intellectual lightweight who has not lick of common sense.

Actually it was Bush who invaded Iraq...

... and destroyed the Bathist institutions which ran Iraq...

... and threw the Iraqi army out on the street...

... who now are fighting for ISIS.

He also seems to forget who kicked over the hornets nest to start with. And he and every other neocon seem to forget what the neocon-in-chief Dick Cheney said in the 90's;

"I think that the proposition of going to Baghdad is also fallacious. I think if we we're going to remove Saddam Hussein we would have had to go all the way to Baghdad, we would have to commit a lot of force because I do not believe he would wait in the Presidential Palace for us to arrive. I think we'd have had to hunt him down. And once we'd done that and we'd gotten rid of Saddam Hussein and his government, then we'd have had to put another government in its place. What kind of government? Should it be a Sunni government or Shi'i government or a Kurdish government or Ba'athist regime? Or maybe we want to bring in some of the Islamic fundamentalists? How long would we have had to stay in Baghdad to keep that government in place? What would happen to the government once U.S. forces withdrew? How many casualties should the United States accept in that effort to try to create clarity and stability in a situation that is inherently unstable? I think it is vitally important for a President to know when to use military force. I think it is also very important for him to know when not to commit U.S. military force. And it's my view that the President got it right both times, that it would have been a mistake for us to get bogged down in the quagmire inside Iraq"

He must have lost his crystal ball shortly after.

The Middle East madness started with the invasion of Iraq, no amount of deluded historical revisionism can alter that fact. So many mistakes so little ink. I'll just mention one I think was critical, Paul Bremer's ham-fisted run as Bush's installed potentate, especially driving Saddam's forces underground instead of utilizing them at least for domestic peace keeping. Jesus, have you ever read a history of his actions there? A veritable "how to" in steps to take to really fuck up a society and a region.

We have a JV president. I don't know that the damage can be undone. It's almost like Obama is destroying things so Sanders will have an easier time of turning us into a socialist cesspool.

Indeed. Despite the best efforts of the Left, not all American males have been turned into soft, sensitive blobs of effeminate sheep who lack any propensity for logic and common sense.

Hence the recognition that Putin is an asshole, but at least the male he claims to be.

Claiming the Mid-East was stable before "Obama's apology tour" is like saying NYC was calm on 9/11. Now if the OP said the Mid-East was unstable at the time and specified words used by Obama that were the tipping point causing unrest, well that would be another story. But the way the OP makes it out, I expect to see Obama part the sea and drive to Hawaii on his next vacation.

Who heard of ISIS before Obama took office?

We have given billions of dollars, planes, tanks and other weapons to radicals. Obama has shown sympathy for them, which no doubt emboldened them. Nothing like having the leader of the free world making excuses and demanding respect for all Muslims. Obama won't talk about the radical Muslims and keeps claiming that the terrorists aren't Muslims and that they don't kill in the name of Islam despite their constant claims to the contrary.

You are severely underestimating the power that a US President wields especially with Foreign Policy. The number one rule which Obama arrogantly dismissed is you MUST project strength. When he immediately projected weakness, and followed it up with indecision and flat out stupidity, the enemy was emboldened and never looked back.

Obama's fuck ups are wide ranging. We have the worst refugee crisis in Europe since WW2 thanks to him. WHo said he didnt accomplish anything?

Either Obama is a narcissist who thinks he's smarter than he is or he is really a genius and his plan is to advance the radical Islamist agenda. His foreign policies have not favored America or her allies.

Its the first. He's always been like this.

Obama inherited a stable Middle East with no ISIS and immediately switched sides to support Jihad. Whole countries were turned over to ISIS and AQ.

Insane, just fucking insane that the US CinC would throw away all the gains we made

Obama sees America as the problem, in line with his leftist upbringing. So anything that makes America weaker is a positive in his book.
But leftists have been wrong about virtually everthing for 70 years, and they are wrong here. We see what happens when American power is withdrawn. The results arent pretty. Thuggery, savagery, refugee problems, etc. Human misery is not caused by the US. It is prevented by it.
