Were you taking a long nap during the time this came to public attention? One of the most amazing revelations was the central role Jamie Gorelick played -who was sitting on the 9/11 Commission instead of being grilled under oath on the other side of the table. She was a central player in erecting this wall. And it requires some research to be able to put together what role this played in the grander scheme of things -but all of it public information now. This is a very long post -but there is no way to capsulize it in just a few sentences.

A month after Gorelick was sworn in, Bill Clinton issued Presidential Decision Directive 24. PDD 24 put intelligence gathering under the direct control of the president’s National Security Council, and ultimately the White House, through a four-level, top-down chain of command set up to govern (stifle) intelligence sharing and cooperation between intelligence agencies. From the moment the directive was implemented, intelligence sharing became a bureaucratic nightmare that required negotiating a densely tangled bureaucracy that stopped directly at the President’s office.

The directive gut the CIA by creating a National Counterintelligence Center to oversee the CIA. NCI was staffed by an FBI agent appointed by Clinton. This brought multiple international investigations at the time under the direct control of the administration. Now if you think that existed as a result of Watergate a few decades earlier, you are wrong -no such thing existed like this prior to Clinton's PPD 24. Virtually everything the CIA did passed through the administration controlled NCI that his directive created. NCI reported to an administration-appointed board, the National Counterintelligence Operations Board charged with "discussing counterintelligence matters". The NCOB reported to yet another Clinton appointed board, the National Intelligence Policy Board under the guise of "coordinating" the intelligence gathering efforts of different agencies attempting to work together. This board reported directly to the President.

All this occurred at the time the FBI and CIA were both working different ends of investigations that would eventually implicate China in technology transfers and the Democratic Party in accepting illegal donations from the Chinese military and Chinese government. The person charged with selling to Congress what House Intelligence Committee Chairman Dan Glickman said was "regulatory gobbledygook" -was Jamie Gorelick. And she was able to sell it in spite of Congressional concerns about the increased confusion and apparently pointless red tape it created -and Clinton's directive stood.

A year after PDD 24, with the new bureaucratic structure loaded with administration appointees, Gorelick drafted the 1995 memo Attorney General John Ashcroft mentioned while testifying before the 9/11 Commission -expressly forbidding the sharing of information between intelligence investigations and criminal investigations. The Gorelick memo, and other supporting memos that were later released, including one expressly forbidding contact with US prosecutors in trying to obtain wiretap and search warrants and to only go through the Clinton appointed board - not only created walls within the intelligence agencies that prevented information sharing among their own agents, but effectively walled these agencies off from each other and from outside contact with the U.S. prosecutors instrumental in helping them gather the evidence needed to make the case for criminal charges.

The only place left to go with intelligence information – particularly for efforts to share intelligence information or obtain search warrants – was straight up Clinton and Gorelick’s multi-tiered chain of command. Information lethal to the Democratic Party languished inside the Justice Department, trapped behind the walls Gorelick specifically created. AND WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF CLINTON'S DD24.

Nothing like this existed prior to Clinton's directive -certainly NOT as a result of Watergate.

In her letter of protest to Attorney General Reno over Gorelick’s memo, United States Attorney Mary Jo White said, “These instructions leave entirely to OIPR (Office of Intelligence Policy and Review within the NCOB staffed by Clinton appointees) and the (Justice Department) Criminal Division when, if ever, to contact affected U.S. attorneys on investigations including terrorism and espionage.”

Some of the investigations that were underway at the time of Clinton's directive that were affected, delayed or even halted included the search for the source of the leak of W-88 nuclear warhead technology to China; further investigation of the extensive evidence linking illegal Democrat campaign donations from China -delayed so many years that there was no hint of it that crept into public awareness until after Clinton had been safely re-elected; the CIA's investigation and discovery that China had sold missile technology, a nuclear fission reactor, advanced air defense radar and chemical agents to Iran as well as having provided 5,000 ring magnets used in the production of weapons grade uranium to Pakistan and uranium fuel for India's reactors. All of which had been done illegally. And Gorelick KNEW all this -because even though Clinton refused to meet with the Director of the CIA at all, Gorelick met with Tenet every week to discuss the CIA's intelligence and ongoing investigations and hear Tenet's complaints about the inability of the CIA to get the coordination it needed to get anywhere with these investigations.

That doesn't include the FBI's investigations that were stalled for years like the investigation of Democrat donor Johnny Chung even AFTER they had Chinese officials on surveillance videotape as they were trying to pressure him from revealing information about the $300,000 the Chinese military illegally funneled directly through Chung to the DNC between 1994 and 1996.

Clinton SPECIFICALLY crafted the means of burying the ability of investigative agencies to discover, investigate and prosecute the illegal and corrupt connections of the DNC and Clinton himself -with China's efforts to buy a President and an entire political party for the purpose of trying to gain military parity with the US. China did quite well for itself too. Clinton came into office with a specific agenda of gutting the entire export-control system -on behalf of China. No other nation on earth had supercomputers with the capabilities developed by the US except Japan -and we had a bilateral export agreement with Japan to review each export before it occurred. Clinton did away with the agreement -and as a direct result, China ended up with more than 600 military-grade supercomputers -many of them shipped directly to military controlled enterprises and weapons-design centers. In 1994, Clinton rammed through the sale of encrypted military communications gear to the Chinese military. Also in 1994, Clinton allowed the auction of entire US defense plants that were closed due to lack of US government orders following the end of the Cold War. These plants included a McDonnell-Douglas B1 bomber plant and McDonnell-Douglas allowing nocturnal visits by the Chinese through still-classified production lines, allowing them to videotape these areas.

Any law or restriction that interfered with Clinton's intention of shoveling US technology to China -he simply changed. And China ended up with all sorts of goodies, including: road-mobile, solid fuel strategic missiles, including the DF-31 which is capable of reaching the US heartland; an encrypted military communications system virtually impervious to electronic eavesdropping; using some of that dual-use technology to produce a new generation of ballistic missile submarines; AWACS command-and-control aircraft; SA-10 air defense missiles and S-300 antitactical ballistic missile systems now deployed on their coast facing Taiwan; several hundred improved M-11 attack missiles also facing Taiwan and equipped with US-built GPS guidance systems and anti-satellite weapons capable of blinding the US's early warning and intelligence gathering abilities.

That doesn't even include the intelligence that has been turned over to China's military under Clinton's military-to-military program with the Chinese military -such as classified information about how the US prepares for and fights wars.

China and Russia have since signed a deal that will very likely put all this in the hands of the Russian military as well. And who knows what countries China will once again share it with illegally -like Iran. Is it any wonder that the Cox Commission concluded that our national security was significantly damaged and harmed as a result of both Clinton's newly "legalized" efforts and Chinese covert efforts to give China stunning access to OUR most sensitive technology -and concluded it saved them between 10-15 years of research at the very minimum?

This is just a drop in the bucket of the kind of corrupt bullshit Bush had to dismantle that Clinton had put in place -essentially guaranteeing the US would be unable to penetrate ongoing plots against the US. I found Obama's comments after his first detailed intelligence briefing rather chilling. He said he saw room for "improvement" and "change" within our intelligence agencies. What the Cox commission couldn't know at that time -is that what Clinton did also led directly to the inability of our intelligence agencies to penetrate ANY aspect of the 9/11 plot before the attack. That possibility died when one of the terrorist's computers was found as the result of a criminal investigation -and because his computer was irrelevant to the criminal investigation and only potentially relevant to an intelligence investigation - denied a search warrant to examine it as well as being forbidden from informing ANY intelligence agency about its existence. On top of all agencies and agents forbidden from sharing any information gathered independently that with a coordinated analysis, would have revealed there was a cadre of foreigners all interested in flying lessons except for taking off and landing who were inside this country. But the people who died on 9/11 are highly unlikely to be the last people to pay with their lives for what Clinton did. In truth, Clinton committed treason . Even after being warned by his OWN handpicked experts that allowing the sale of much of this technology would seriously damage national security -he did it anyway. He deliberately and KNOWINGLY chose to damage the national security of the United States -and that is treason.

Now, for you Democrat Kool-Aid drinkers -what would your reaction to all this be if it all involved a Republican President and the RNC? Still no big deal? In reference to a previous post of yours -if one of your parents is a US citizen, then even if born in another country, you are a US citizen. If born in another country to a US citizen and it gives you dual citizenship, US law requires you to declare citizenship of one country or the other at age 21 -you can't continue with dual citizenship. But in order to run for President, you must have been born in the US itself. Even if the person is a US citizen -if he was born anywhere else but the US, he would be disqualified from running for President.

With regards to the post above -I really can't imagine the mindset of someone who would purposely CHOOSE a state of ignorance. It is beyond comprehension to me.
