Obama Wants $7 Gallon Gas!!!!

Actually if the federal gas tax in the US was raised by 1.50 per gallon and smokes were raise by 50 cents a package with 2.50 added to a case of beer, bottle of wine, and bottle of liquor the deficit would be eliminaited in 3 years. From than on Medicare would be funded at a rate of 100 % for all Americans. Simply by taxing booze, smokes, and gas.

Simple enough even for you cave dwellers to understand?
How well did prohibition work again? Now, let's do the same damn thing on a critical resource instead of a luxury item.

Nooooooo.... I can't see ANY disaster coming from this.

No kidding? Just more taxes and all our problems go away. More taxes....that's the rub, Yukon. Just gives a bigger kitty to raid from the politicians.

Meister,

Bingo ! You win the cuppie doll. I can't believe that we have at least cave-dwelling, knuckle dragging, conservative, religious zealot who understands. Now, back to abortion Meister, eventually you'll understand that too. Let Uncle Yukon explain it to you.............

If the economy improves I don't see any problem with gas going up to $7. By "no problem" I mean that I think it'll get there pretty much on its own. The way I saw it, inflation fears was the driver when we saw gas peaked at over $4 a few years back. The way spending is going now, $7 wouldn't be that hard to imagine.

different color and shapes of the turds and maybe a smaller pile for one. But we'd still be buried in the shit.

That's why RINOs are no different than Dems.

Ohh they are different in many ways but partisan politics just plain sucks.
Politics is just an industry now.
Yes there are differences, but I'm talking anyone who is a moderate. They have no ideological backbone save one philosophy: stay in power. They will lie cheat and steal to keep it. Say anything to anyone and vote for what's popular over what's right. These are the people who need removal most of all. So I was incorrect at saying RINOs are just Dems, because the left have DINOs as well. And this mushy middle is the problem

So the very left Dems and the very right Repubs are all fine? It is the moderates that are causing the problems?

I'm calling the bullshit flag on this one..regardless of what Obama said in the past...7 dollar a gallon gas would wreck the economy and the alleged recovery taking place....plus you anti-corporate douchebags would be screaming to high heaven over the massive profits raked in by the oil companies.

But $7 gas would jump productivity figures a lot and GDP, etc.
The $4 gas did that. So $7 gas should be even better for the economy.

$7 gasoline? Wtf? He's already given us $10 Trillion in deficits and 45,000,000 unemployed. Next logical step in the Obama economy.

So on paper the cost of gas raises the GDP...and you consider this "progress"?

Yeah... right. "Simple" is about right. You're not very bright are you?

No but it was touted as such by the last administration and their supporters.
So why are they not supporting the same thing now?

That is stupid. What is important is why people think you are a pediphile.

What's even more strange is your recent obsession with pedophilia. You been surfing kiddie porn sites while on your all night security guard detail...

we don't need to tax gas in order for the price to go up. We could just stop subsidizing it. It ain't such a bad idea, if we believe reducing oil consumption is important, whether for economic or environmental reasons. Rather than attempt direct regulation (eg, mileage standards), just stop artificially deflating the price and let the private market respond.

precisely!

Good idea. And let's get the U.S. government out of the land owning business and allow the private sector to acquire and develop such land, including oil drilling.

and who exactly is subsidizing gasoline prices and how?

It would honestly make the price go up on it's own if we did stop the subsidizing of it.....

not that i want the prices to go up and through the roof until we have viable solution....

so all the money given yearly to the oil and gas industry, and all the tax write offs and credits that they are given to make them not pay a DIME in income tax, should be given to the alternative fuel industry to jump start that....

everyone knows the less tax businesses have to pay, the more they can reinvest in their business.

OK so you want to pay 25 dollars for a loaf of bread and 15 dollars a gallon for milk? Lets stop ALL SUBSIDIES!

Well PP, I don't have the specifics offhand... but I will say that whatever allows Exxon mobile as an example, to owe absolutely nothing in income tax come year end after they made billions upon billion in profit while other big industries with even lesser profits pay income tax each year, should be taken away from them and given to the alternative fuel industry to jump start them.

and all the money spent on warring in the middle east....

leasing our land to them for near pennies or for nothing, while they make billions off of the oil, after all expenses of them developing the well and paying for the rig operation....

there is much that we do that keeps the price of oil/gasoline down.

How about we adopt this approach with all industries and unions as well?

OK...so your saying that allowing corporations to write off certain expenses is actually subsidizing the price of gasoline? I'm sorry but I don't follow this logic as I thought the price of gasoline was driven by the price for a barrel of oil and demand by the American consumer....and if gas hit 7 dollars a gallon...Obama would be TOAST!!!!!

What exactly do you think BP is going to do about it's losses in the Gulf Oil Disaster and the ensuing clean up expenses.... C4A....I've been telling everyone WE would end up paying for it and by your statement that tax write-offs are oil company subsidies...it would be correct to say that the American people will end up footing the bill for this...agree or disagree?
