"Fraudulently"?


He's right about that ---- it is indeed a vesitge of an earlier time. A time when there was no mass communication or modern travel, when a voter in Georgia wouldn't have known squat about a candidate from Connecticut, which was a world away. A time when slave states got to inflate their EV by counting slaves as three-fifths of a person, while giving them zero-fifths of a vote. And a time when a device long since perverted by "winner-take-all" bullshit had not erected artificial red and blue walls of division all over the country.

Whelp -- since then we've developed cars and planes and TV and internets and even ---- better sit down for this, McRacist ----- dumped slavery. It's an antique designed for issues of an earlier time, that no longer exists.

I might add that having Election Day on a November Tuesday is equally outmoded. That was set so that we, as a nation of farmers, could venture out on horseback to cast a vote at a time when the harvesting would be done. Guess what ---- that world is gone too.

HOWEVER --- having said all that, if it's your belief that this particular vision of the Founding Fathers is not outdated after all, then you have to also consider that that vision saw the EC as a deliberative body that could, and should, second-guess the popular vote in the event the Unwashed were hoodwinked by a con artist, or in the event that a potential POTUS was chosen who had dependent ties to a foreign government, both of which were specifically articulated in its justification and both of which have a relevance to the current election that is shall we say, interesting.

So either way.......
