Obama Says Essentially For Us To Forget About $2 Gas

Gas prices are high because obama has a vision of going back to the bicycle.

You want $2 a gallon gas?

That's easy, for alot of you. Just go buy a vehicle that gets twice the gas mileage your current vehicle is getting.

It'll then cost you half the gas to drive the same amount, and thus your gas price goes from $4 to $2.

Otherwise, quit complaining.

Umm Umm But But...........
its called the FREE MARKET! what do you want him to do? fix prices? cause thats socialist

Shall I post the Maxine Watters quote when she threatened to "socialize I mean nationalize your industry"...Or should I save you the embarassment from your post while you retract your statement?
Your side has been calling for government intervention in the markets( price fixing) for years now.
So please, don't post about things of which you posess little knowledge.

and Newt said he can give you $2.50 gas.

if you really want to bring down the price of gas, you would have to nationalize it and price fix. so what do you want, the free market or low gas prices?

i didnt know maxine watters spoke for the entire Obama administration. does this mean i can say Paul Ryan speaks for the entire GOP when is comes to dismantling medicare?

A few weeks ago Obama said he has no control over the price of gas.

Now he's gonna try to convince us he's doing everything in his power to control it.....but it is a hopeless cause........just deal with it.

Yes or no.

Domestic production at the present time is greater then when George W. Bush was President?

It's a binary questions. A simple yes or no..will do.

Obama did nothing to improve domestic production that Bush started. Obama is building roadblocks to further domestic oil production.

That's pretty much what Obama is saying: it's Americans' fault. God damn America.

That would mean somebody will have to build a car that gets 60 mpg.

I've got a better idea.....have two prices at the pump.....the Obama price and the real price. I'll pay the real price.

Or how bout liberals start walking.

I'll thank you as I drive by.

Oil prices will be what the Chinese are willing to pay for oil,

to run their economy that used to be our economy.

btw, it is your fault if you choose to drive a low gas mileage vehicle that you can replace with a higher gas mileage vehicle without ruining your life.

Yup! Until the wingnuts in the House and Senate vote to curb oil speculation, you can forget about cheaper gas.

Stop.

U.S. oil gusher blows out projections

The United States' rapidly declining crude oil supply has made a stunning about-face, shredding federal oil projections and putting energy independence in sight of some analyst forecasts.

After declining to levels not seen since the 1940s, U.S. crude production began rising again in 2009. Drilling rigs have rushed into the nation's oil fields, suggesting a surge in domestic crude is on the horizon.

The number of rigs in U.S. oil fields has more than quad*rupled in the past three years to 1,272, according to the Baker Hughes rig count. Including those in natural gas fields, the United States now has more rigs at work than the entire rest of the world.

"It's staggering," said Marshall Adkins, who directs energy research for the financial services firm Raymond James. "If we continue growing anywhere near that pace and keep squeezing demand out of the system, that puts you in a world where we are not importing oil in 10 years."

There are doubts that energy independence is that close. But many say the booming shale oil fields in Texas and North Dakota and the growth of deep-water drilling in the Gulf of Mexico will allow the nation to cut its reliance on oil imports significantly over the next couple of decades.

Last month, the U.S. Energy Information Administration upgraded its forecast of crude production in 2025 to 6.4 million barrels per day - 1 million barrels more than were pumped in 2010.

Wow, I mean, just wow!!!

Who knew Obama loved fossil-fuels so much.

Baker Hughes??? I guess our troubles are over.

In April, 2007, Baker Hughes pled guilty in U.S. federal court to violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), including bribing oil-related industry officials in Russia, Uzbekistan, Angola, Indonesia, and Nigeria.,[8] Under the settlement, a unit of the Houston-based company pleaded guilty to violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) for payments made between 2001 and 2003 to a commercial agent retained in 2000 in connection with a project in Kazakhstan. After bribes were paid, Baker Hughes was awarded an oil-services contract in a Karachaganak, Kazakhstan field that generated $219 million in revenues from 2001 to 2006.[9]

Anyone who puts pressure on prices because they are demanding more of a product than they need to is part of the reason prices rise.

Are you honestly too ignorant to understand something that fundamental?

He's right. Speculators, OPEC and the political environment in places like Iran, determine gas prices. I've also heard that we have cheaper gas than Europe does because we give subsidies to big oil. US production isn't the determining factor either. US production has increased significantly under the Obama administration.

Nice try.
Whenever someone on here ( mostly libs) state they "heard", they then drive right off the credibility cliff.
You "heard"...:clap2:

Yeah, I heard it on a radio program. You don't agree? Then prove me wrong. Or just keep applauding your own ignorance. :dunno:
Then provide a link to the quote so we can hear it for ourselves. We don't prove negatives around here.
No link? You heard shit.
BTW any idiot knows gas prices are much higher in Europe. This is due to taxation.
The market price for gasoline is the same around the world. The Euros tax the shit out of it. Is it your conclusion that we here in the States should be paying upwards of $7 per gallon?
Here is a direct quote from US Energy Sec'y Stephen Chu..... “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”
Times Tough for Energy Overhaul - WSJ.com....
It is clear that the Administration wants fuel to become more expensive.
Obama has it in his head that his vision of motor fuel is what's best for the country. And whether or not his vision can be achieved before he leaves office either in Jan 2013 or Jan 2017, he is determined to do what he can to raise prices for energy.
NONE of Obama's ideas are actually about energy, gasoline, or any other such thing. Obama is kowtowing to his political base in order to get re-elected. Obama believes he will be able to do the most damage to the country without the concerns of having to run for office. A second term for Obama will be an absolute disaster for the United States and the people

yeah, go buy some piece of shit, mini, fly weight, "smart" car that gets you twice the mileage right up until that minor fender bender that costs you your life.................

good luck with that..........lol

So you don't just piss on American veterans, but Americans in general.
And telling people what to buy isn't the only answer here. Unless one hates America as you clearly do.
