WHEN Tony Abbott meets with US President Barack Obama for the first time as prime minister they won't be the only politicians in the room.
Vice-President Joe Biden will be joining them.

The prime minister's Washington DC debut on Thursday will be a far cry from the two days spent in the Canadian' capital Ottawa.

Mr Abbott was treated to breakfast, lunch and dinner with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Monday.

Mr Harper also laid on Australian flags along the main streets of Ottawa, a military honour guard welcome to Canada's Parliament and a joint media conference.

Hmmm...can't really expect all that in Washington...but what about one flag, on the lawns of the White House, with Abbott and Obama standing side by side, as the US military band plays the Australian national anthem ...
...as President George W did for the then Australian Prime Minister John Howard.

Tony Abbott only got power because the Australian Labor party ran out of people to run and lost all credibility through infighting and drama - to the point Tony Abbott was palatable. No one in Australia actually likes the guy, they voted for him simply because they were sick of Labor.

He's laughable.

They just put together a study on "austerity" and how to achieve it.

Australians are like, fuck that shit. Tax the rich.

They are welcome to it. New Zealand has already had the 'austerity' treatment alongside tax cuts for the rich, it didn't work and just pilled up the government debt. Looking forward to the National party being turfed out, so New Zealand can get back to following the Scandinavian model. Tony Abbott is a lame duck, that will be turfed out when Australians realize he is all talk and no substance.

1. Stop all the people-smuggling boats arriving from Indonesia like a taxi service under the Left/Far Left Labor govts of Rudd and Gillard.
...and therefore stop those Labor govts from giving the people-smuggling boat passengers free homes, $10,000 start up packs [tvs, furniture, white goods etc] and welfare cash for life for doing nothing].

2. Abolish the hated carbon tax.

Abbott stars at anti-carbon tax rally

Tony Abbott got a rock star welcome from several thousand protesters at a boisterous anti-carbon tax rally outside Parliament House Canberra, though he was plainly wary about some of them.

The chant of "Tony, Tony, Tony" rose to a crescendo as the Opposition Leader repeated his mantra "no tax collection before an election".

But Mr Abbott took care to distance himself from slogans vilifying Prime Minister Julia Gillard after the "Ditch the Witch" controversy earlier this year in which he was accused of endorsing the placard waver's sentiments.

Mr Abbott said the [Labor Left]government had admitted carbon emissions would continue to rise during the next decade despite the imposition of a $23 a tonne carbon price from July 1, 2012, followed by an emissions trading scheme.

"What kind of craziness is this: to tax every single Australian and still see emissions going up and up and up?" he said.


3. Fix the economy, stop the debt rot, get the budget back into surplus, then repay the hundreds of billions of dollars the Left Labor Govt borrowed and spent...on which Australia is paying $1 BILLION every 30 days in interest.
The population of the whole nation is 23 million.

AUSTRALIA’S Ambassador to the US Kim Beazley has revealed that the Obama administration was “intrigued” by Tony Abbott’s accomplishments in Asia and would now be looking to him to become their man in the region.

As the Prime Minister prepares to meet the US President this week on his first official visit to the US, Mr Beazley told The Daily Telegraph yesterday that US officials had marvelled at Mr Abbott’s diplomatic coups on his recent north Asian visit.

“When he sees Tony Abbott the President will have a lot on his mind, for example about south-east Asia, and he has a bloke here in Abbott who knows something about it and operates within it on a daily basis.”

“Now when they look at Tony Abbott what do they see?
“They see a bloke who has done pretty well in Asia in the last little while.”
