Tax breaks allow people to keep more of what they earn. Because every dollar in the private sector, whether spent or saved or invested, is multiplied several times, the economy is strengthened.

Government assistance takes money that you earn which reduces your freedom, choices, options,and opportunities. Those taxed have less to use for their own or anybody else's benefit meaning that it takes money out of the economy while returning only a tiny fraction to it. The economy is weakened.

The government swallows up a huge chunk of tax dollars it takes in just to support the unbelievably immense bureaucracy and to enrich those in charge of it. It spends a lot more on people who do not use it to become productive but rather use it to keep from having to become productive. That much diminishes the value that money has to the economy. We are sending massive amounts of dollars to 158 countries of the 196 countries that exist in the world today. The U.S. economy benefits minimally if at all from that.

And every borrowed dollar and everypaper dollar the U.S. Mint prints that is not tied to the GDP is eroding the value of currency already in circulation and funneling more and more of our wealth in interest payments to other places which is having a devastating effect on our economy.
