Obama: Partisanship Over Iran Nuclear Deal Has Gone Too Far

Link? Nope.
Yeah, I noticed you left out the link to where Iran had no intention of honouring the deal.

Anyway:

Pakistan’s Nuclear Weapons: Proliferation and Security Issues

http://fas.org/sgp/crs/nuke/RL34248.pdf

The United States reportedly offered nuclear security assistance to Pakistan soon after September11, 2001. U.S. assistance to Islamabad, which must comply with nonproliferation guidelines, as reportedly included the sharing of best practices and technical measures to prevent unauthorized or accidental use of nuclear weapons, as well as contribute to physical security of storage facilities and personnel reliability. As noted above, Islamabad employs a system requiring that at least two, and perhaps three, people authenticate launch codes for nuclear weapons. Security at nuclear sites in Islamabad is the responsibility of a 10,000-member security force, commanded by a two-star general. Former Pakistani military officials have said Pakistan has developed Permissive Action Links (PALs) for its warheads without U.S. assistance. PALs require a code to be entered before a weapon can be detonated.

Former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage confirmed in a November 2007 interview that there has been U.S. assistance in this area, explaining that the United States was unlikely to intervene militarily in a crisis in Pakistan because “we have spent considerable time with the Pakistani military, talking with them and working with them on the security of their nuclear weapons. I think most observers would say that they are fairly secure. They have pretty sophisticated mechanisms to guard the security of those.”

Rolf Mowatt-Larssen, former Director of the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence at the U.S. Department of Energy, pointed out in May 2009 that “there’s not a lot of transparency into” how Islamabad spends the U.S. funds, but he nevertheless characterized them as “money well spent.”

How the U.S. Has Secretly Backed Pakistan’s Nuclear Program From Day One

How the U.S. Has Secretly Backed Pakistan s Nuclear Program From Day One CounterPunch Tells the Facts Names the Names

Now comes word from inside the Obama government that little has changed. “Most of the aid we’ve sent them over the past few years has been diverted into their nuclear program,” a senior national security official in the current administration recently told me. Most of this diverted aid — $5.56 billion as of a year ago – was officially designated “Coalition Support Funds” for Pakistani military operations against the Taliban. It may be that this diversion came as a terrible shock to Washington, but the money has been routinely handed over essentially without accounting being required from the Pakistanis. The GAO has huffed at items such as the $30 million shelled out for non-existent roads, of the $1.5 million for “naval vehicles damaged in combat” but that was as far as public complaints went. In the meantime, as Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mullen confirmed recently, the Pakistanis have been urgently increasing their nuclear weapons production.

A former national security official with knowledge of the policy explained this insouciance to me. “We want to get in there and manage [their nuclear program]. If we manage it, we can make sure they don’t start testing, or start a war.” In other words, the U.S. is helping the Pakistanis to modernize their nuclear arsenal in hopes that the U.S. will thereby gain a measure of control. The official aim of U.S. technical support, at an estimated cost of $100 million a year, is to render the Pakistani weapons safer, i.e., less likely to go off if dropped, and more “secure”, meaning out of the reach of our old friends the extremists.

Your own fucking link shows Pakistan lied about the aid we gave them...and you want to trust the number one provider of terrorist killers around the world......and now that Pakistan has the bomb we want to make sure the islamic assholes don't get a hold of it.....but obama just wants to give islamic assholes the bomb in Iran.....ones who actually say they are going to use it on Israel and on us.......and that makes sense to you.....

liberals be crazy..........and stupid........and brain dead......

The Rs writing that letter committed treason. If not in fact, most certainly in spirit. They were actively aiding and abetting an enemy of the US. They openly strengthened Iran's position and gave them tacit permission to build nukes.

Their goal was to sabotage, undermine and weaken the US. Indeed, that's the goal of almost everything the right does.
The traitors put the interests of the oil monopoly over country. Big Oil does not want sanctions lifted because Iran needs money and all they have is oil, so they will flood the world market with oil if sanctions are lifted driving the price of crude oil to around $20 per barrel.

Are you guys really this fucking stupid.........is the history of the middle to late 20th century a fairy tale to you morons..........people gave hitler everything he wanted.....and they got the 2nd world war for their troubles....and no one had nukes back then.....both hitler and japan would have dropped nukes like rain if they had them.....and you morons support giving them to a terrorist nation...

That has specifically told everyone...all the time....that when they get nukes they are going to use them.........

And you guys think they are joking...............

YOu guys are morons.....

Your own fucking link shows Pakistan lied about the aid we gave them
And you keep giving it to them. Is that crazy or what, eh? Not to mention supplying Pakistan with restricted tech to enable it to nuke up. The facilitators of the Taliban being given US nuclear aid! Seems to me the Taliban used to wear the 'terrorist' label till the next bogey man came along.

Then the squealing about Iraq.

So really, these hysterics about Iran get old quickly, same old, same old.

Hoho, so Iran is the new Third Reich!

You guys crack me up. Hysterical goofs or what.
