Obama: 'I Continue to Believe Trump Will Not Be President'

"I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president," Obama said when asked about the 2016 election at the conclusion of the U.S.-Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Rancho Mirage, California. "And the reason is because I have a lot of faith in the American people. And I think they recognize that being president is a serious job."

"It's not hosting a talk show or a reality show. It's not promotion, it's not marketing. It's hard. And a lot of people count on us getting it right."

People from the media and the establishment always say that the Trump campaign is a "reality show". They hope that by doing so, they can embarrass his supporters so much that they give up what they really want. They assume a little bit of rhetoric could make Trump supporters believe they are in a ludicrous dream of some kind, and it's not real. However, the reality slams them again and again - it's already become funny.

In fact, the biggest "reality show" of our country is exactly the elections as they used to be. Donors, special interests, and their lobbyists are the directors of the show; candidates and the establishment are the performers. What is the difference between the "election show" and the regular ones on TV? It's just that the election is GLORIFIED by its sophistication and the values it once held.

This year, however, the show has CHANGED a bit, as its audience rightfully demand.

How ironic is it that the directors and their biggest performers are now accusing this whole thing of being a "reality show"!

You can't embarrass Trump supporters. They are the lowest of the low.....nothing embarrasses them, they are the embarrassment to the nation.

Did you know that Trump supporters were polled and the majority still believe Obama is a Muslim.

31% of his supporters are for banning gays from the US....how insane is that?

Many of them want to ban Islam from the US......do they even know the Constitution advocates "Freedom of Religion" - how ignorant is that?

Also, they were asked what was most important to them:

Choosing someone that shares position on issues

or

Choosing someone that has the best chance of winning

They chose Trump because he "shares position on issues" n- he agrees with them on everything they like, even those things that go against the Constitution.
Pure bullshit.

Is that your best rebuttal? Figures!

And Obama is correct.
There are plenty of Democrats that think the race will be close, and that means Trump will win.
Trump might win the Republican nomination, but that doesn't mean he will will the Presidency. The majority of Americans are smarter than that.

Obama is going to be crying a lot of "mixed" tears. LOL

The last time a Republican/conservative told me on the day before the 2012 election that Romney was going to win and I was going to be crying.....he couldn't be found the day after the election..... left the Forum (not this one) and didn't ever show his face again.

Obama doesn't have anything to fear, the Republicans are setting themselves up to be ridiculed by the entire country with their ignorant stance that Obama should not appoint a replacement for Scalia. The whole country will be looking at them and their sorry asses if they try to cripple the country that way.

I hope Obama falls into a coma when he has to help president Trump settle into the White House.

Trump will never see the inside of the White House unless Hillary invites him for a tour.
Hillary will never even get the nomination.

Your party is almost too stupid to even run national campaigns now.
The Democrats are corrupt enough and in bed with Hillary enough to give her as many delegates as Sanders got in New Hampshire, even though Sanders won 60% of the vote.

I think Hillary will be easy pickings for the GOP as long as they do not nominate some Establishment loser like Rubio, or Bush.

Trump, Carson, Cruz and Kasich I think will be able to beat Hillary by November, but maybe not Sanders.

People are furious with the establishment of both parties selling off our jobs to foreign nations and not enforcing immigration laws here.
Hillary won't beat Sanders.
I think she will. She's ahead of Sanders in most states. But even if she doesn't Sanders is good.

Sanders won't beat Trump.

You shouldn't pay attention to FAUX News polls.....they led you astray with Romney, too.

Sanders' supporters are already pissed about the super delegate crap, so if he doesn't win the nomination many of them will stay home or even vote against the Democrats(especially if the Republican opposition is Trump)
Trump in the meantime is proving he is not even remotely a typical Republican by vehemently attacking GWB and using moveon.org talking points, which makes it easier and easier for a Democrat to vote for him so they don't have to watch Sanders end their typical party bullshit and games by making the Democrat party an openly socialist party.

Bwahahaha....Democrats aren't gullible like Republicans. The only Democrats that will vote for Trump are in the same category as the ones from the Republican party.....uneducated and uninformed and most of them don't even register to vote.
Most of Sanders' and Hillary's supporters are idiots who believe in things like "free college", they might as well have stopped at high school degrees so their education levels can match their intelligence and general knowledge. It is hilarious that Democrats actually think the average voter in their party is the least bit intelligent when it is so painfully obvious that stupidity has been the greatest weapon of the Democrat recruitment effort for generations.

On the other hand, Trump is not really getting support because he will be some great president. Trump is getting support because he will change or possibly destroy the political system in this country at a time when the system is America's and the western world's greatest enemy.

Democrats are the last ones who can whine about being cheated out of Supreme Court appointments, and a lot more people know that than you want to admit.

The only people who will actually believe nimrods like Warren and Obama on this are the idiots who don't even think to look up whether this situation has happened before with the roles reversed.

You're the idiot....you'd rather give money to corporations and have a huge debt at the end of your college education that you'll have to work the rest of your life to pay out! Oh, I forgot, Republicans don't believe in education....they're trying really hard to get rid of the Department of Education......everyone is going to be home-schooled because only the rich will be able to afford private schools....and Trump supporters won't be able to teach their kids anything....they don't know much themselves.

On the other hand, Trump is not really getting support because he will be some great president. Trump is getting support because he will change or possibly destroy the political system in this country at a time when the system is America's and the western world's greatest enemy.

Trump doesn't know anything about our system of government....he thinks he is going to get anything he wants done....he hasn't had to put up with the Republican Congress....who probably will not like him very much. He's nothing but "pie in the sky" and only fools think he is Presidential material.

You don't make any sense. This doesn't have anything to do with cheating......it is mandated by the Constitution that the President appoint another justice to replace Scalia....the moronic Republicans think the country will put up with their idea that we should wait and let the next President appoint one.....why?

The only people who will actually believe nimrods like Warren and Obama on this are the idiots who don't even think to look up whether this situation has happened before with the roles reversed.

You want to post a link with that because I think you're pulling crap out of your ass. The last appointment in a President's last year in office was in 1988, and Reagan was in the same position as Obama, and Democrats didn't pull that kind of stunt. So, back up your crap with links or just admit that you don't know what you are talking about.

Who cares what Obama says about Trump..
I wish Obama could kick Ted Cruz's ass, Now that is News...

Trump is doing a good job of it. He has threatened to sue Cruz as not eligible to run for President because he was born in Canada.

Where are all the Republicans that were so concerned that Obama might not be eligible, even though he was born in the United States? They're staying very quiet.

Barry has been butthurt by The Donald for years. The Donald forced Obama's people to create that fake ass, photoshopped "long form." A real birth certificate is needed for everything from passports, to drivers licences (illegal aliens are except of course), to conceal carry permits, but not for Obama! Barry saying what he did recently is only going to make citizens vote for The Donald even more since no self-respecting taxpayer is going to listen to Barry.

Yeah right.

Thanks for proving how whacka-doodle Donald Trump supporters are. You are obviously one in the majority of Trump supporters who think Obama wasn't born in the US....what looney tunes.

He says he has faith in the US people. Why? They've shown time and time and time again they'll vote for the two main parties who control everything in their own interests and against the interests of the very people who have the ability to stop them doing this.

I have NO FAITH in the US people.

Most people can tell who is credible and who is not, and those are the ones he has faith in. Those who believe the "pie in the sky and gonna make everything better spewers" are not the ones he has faith in.

Okay, Let me assume that you simply don't know what is going on, so I will explain it to you. BTW, I appreciate the way in which you made your point (NOT the point themselves).

"Did you know that Trump supporters were polled and the majority still believe Obama is a Muslim."
Yes, of course I know SOME Trump supporters "believe" Obama is a Muslim.
Here are some facts for you:
1. When given the poll, many people would claim that they believe Obama is a Muslim as a rhetoric. They dislike him, some of them hate him, for a reason. They answer the question that way because it's fun.
2. There are some who actually believe that Obama is a Muslim, with whom I disagree.
3. Most Trump supporters do NOT actually believe that Obama is a Muslim. However, they would say that judging by what he has done to this country, they wouldn't be surprised if that turned out to be the case.
4. Trump supporters as well as Mr. Trump himself have been attacked and smeared by the MSM from the beginning of his candidacy.

31% Of Donald Trump Supporters Would Ban Gay People From America

The above are links to the news and the poll summary. Below are some comments:
1. The poll was done in SC and SC only.
2. SC is a state which has a great number of evangelicals.
3. Most evangelicals value Christian beliefs, which do not favor gay marriage.
4. The poll indicated that Trump appeals to evangelical voters in SC.
5. From many evangelical voters' perspective, gay marriage is an "embarrassment" and should not exist. It's part of their religious belief.
In my opinion, if you can call their religious beliefs as an "embarrassment", they should be allowed to call your political beliefs (i.e. on gay marriage and rights) an "embarrassment", too. With no respect to each other, this is going nowhere.
"Many of them want to ban Islam from the US......do they even know the Constitution advocates "Freedom of Religion" - how ignorant is that?"
1. Personally, I don't agree with the idea of banning islam from the US.
2. Unlike you, however, I do not see Americans with such ideas as an "embarrassment", nor do I think most of them are unaware of their constitutional rights.
3. I believe that the idea of banning islam is resulted from the fear and anger against radical islamic terrorism. While it is not the right solution to the problem, it is an understandable message demanding security and peace.
"they chose Trump because he "shares position on issues""
Yes, "position on issues" is the biggest factor.
"They chose Trump because he "shares position on issues" n- he agrees with them on everything they like, even those things that go against the Constitution"
Not on everything they like.
For instance, Mr. Trump has never suggested that he would ban gays from the US or deport citizens with islamic religious beliefs.

Okay, so now you might get a picture from a slightly different perspective. While I understand people tend to be contemptuous to things they wildly disagree with, I hope you could drop your claim that Trump supporters are "embarrassment", because what you are humiliating is a large chunk of population in your own country.

That is exactly why the right wing went nuts. Pretending that batshit crazy ideas were just another valid opinion. Until you figure out that batshit crazy is not a valid opinion, your party will continue to be kookoo for coco puffs.

Okay, Let me assume that you simply don't know what is going on, so I will explain it to you. BTW, I appreciate the way in which you made your point (NOT the point themselves).
"You can't embarrass Trump supporters. They are the lowest of the low.....nothing embarrasses them, they are the embarrassment to the nation."
These are just mean words not logical argument. So no more comment.

You may consider them mean.....but it's true. Many of them are red-necks who are uneducated and uninformed. There may be a few who haven't really given serious thought to all that Trump promises but I heard some of them interviewed on TV being asked basic questions and they were clueless.
Donald Trump Supporters Mostly Uneducated, New Poll Finds

The poll said otherwise, and unless you have polled every Trump supporter you cannot tell me what they believe or why they answer the way they do. 66% is pretty much a majority.

66% of Trump's supporters believe that Obama is a Muslim to just 12% that grant he's a Christian.

"31% of his supporters are for banning gays from the US....how insane is that?"
31% Of Donald Trump Supporters Would Ban Gay People From America
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/2015/PPP_Release_SC_21616.pdf
Even if it is only 31% of Trump supporters just in SC....that is insane. Evangelicals are supposed to love everyone (per Jesus' instructions), so they are either poor evangelicals or they're not real Christians. You don't ban Americans just because you don't like their lifestyle. Everyone sins, so if they want people banned because they think they are sinners....what about themselves? Everyone is a sinner.

You may not agree with it, but the poll showed that many of his supporters do. They are an embarrassment because they claim to be Republicans and Republicans tout their love for the Constitution. So, if they don't know that the Constitution advocates Freedom of Relligion, and are wanting to do something that contradicts the Constitution and Republicans claim they don't do....that is an embarrassment especially for Republicans. Most of the recent terrorist acts have been committed by Americans, so these people are ignorant to that fact.

So, your "so bright" Trump supporters want to ban gays from the US, but support someone for President that claims he won't do anything about same-sex marriage? Can't you see the disparity? That is what makes them appear looney. And Trump has suggested to keep American Muslims from re-entering the country, and then claimed he didn't.

Okay, so now you might get a picture from a slightly different perspective. While I understand people tend to be contemptuous to things they wildly disagree with, I hope you could drop your claim that Trump supporters are "embarrassment", because what you are humiliating is a large chunk of population in your own country.
Your perspective didn't disprove anything that I said, just tried to rationalize the lunacy. You're worried that I am humiliating a large chunk of population in a Forum that few will probably ever have access to, but you are okay with the many Trump supporters who with their whackadoodle ideas embarrass the whole country and do it in public for everyone to see? You're delusional.

They are mean, and apparently true to you.
Maybe you've stayed in a not-always-so-friendly forum too long to believe an online conversation can be based on mutual respect even between people with opposing opinions, or maybe you are simply someone like that in real life? I don't know, and we will see.
In my opinion, "Red-necks" have their views, sometimes simple yet wise. I'd like to point out that many of your conclusions on Trump supporters are based on highly biased media report, just like the indication that Trump supporters are uneducated and uninformed.
I'm a Trump supporter, and I'm currently working on my bachelor's degree with a plan for a post-graduate degree. I happen to have the chance to meet and know many Trump supporters, among them are my professors, fellow students, and some of them, workers with no degree at all. When you have the chance to meet with such a group of people, diversified in age, origin, race and education, talk to them and understand their opinions and concerns, I'm sure you wouldn't say anything like that.
Yes, I care about how people talk about us, even on a forum with limited visitors, but I don't think we are an embarrassment to anybody. To the contrary, I feel proud of many views and characteristics Trump supporters share.
The reason I'm here is to understand different views and to share mine with others, because I love politics and have never tried to play and learn in a political forum like this. Most of the ideas I saw so far are pretty inspiring, although sometimes I disagree.
Let me tell you one thing I learned here: you cannot understand people if you do not respect them. If all you want were to label Trump supporters as "mad and stupid", therefore you could ridicule and alienate us, dismiss our opinions, and probably justify yours, there would be no need for us to talk any more, because you would lose my respect and (consequently) I could not possibly understand you. If that's not the case, I guess we will chat a lot in the future -- obviously you are one of those who hold some wildly different ideas from mine, and I'd be happy to learn more from you.
Hope it is not "too embarrassing" for you to share your ideas with a Trump supporter :D

Yeah right.

Thanks for proving how whacka-doodle Donald Trump supporters are. You are obviously one in the majority of Trump supporters who think Obama wasn't born in the US....what looney tunes.

You are a genuine loon. Seriously. Sorry to break the news to ya! Take care, ya hear! Also stock up on lube if you doubt The Donald is going to be the next President of this United States.
