The weapons are thought to be manufactured before 1991 so they would not be proof of an ongoing WMD program in the 1990s.

Now I know you desperately need to believe that the US went to Iraq to find WMD... the simple fact is you're wrong. The US went to Iraq to prvent Iraq from giving WMD to Islamic terorrists, WHICH IRAQ HAD OVERTLY AND COVERTLY PROMOTED AND SUPPORTED FOR 30 YEARS.

Of course... the reality is that neither Hussein NOR the Baath Socialist Party of Iraq will be using the state power of Iraq to promote the interests of International Islamic terrorism, because Hussein is dead and the Baath Socialist Party is no longer in power in Iraq.

The only weapons which really live up to that scary title of weapons of MASS destruction are nuclear weapons.

According to whose definition, they aren't weapons of mass destruction? Are chemical weapons designed to kill large numbers of people all at once? Why, yes. I believe they are.
