Oak Ridge Boys serenade former President Bush in hospital

It was a nice act. They still have their vocal harmony. One of the best renditions of Amazing Grace I've heard. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, GHW.

Bush Sr. (and Jr.) should be on trial at The Hague for war crimes against Iraq.

Is the US State Department still keeping April Glaspie under wraps?

Oh, please, NAME some of these war crimes, Chief Wahoo.

So what is your underlying beef? Not getting enough casino income to buy your firewater?

(Has anybody else noticed that Lakhota's avatar is from a casino slot machine game? I've actually played that particular slot machine game, and the if you get a whole bunch of the wolves like Lakhota's, you can win some pretty good money).

Don't be too hard on "it".

I read on the net that even the Hekawi's rejected her.

Amazing what a short memory people have. The Bush dynasty is corrupt and made their fortune by selling the US out to big oil. It will be generations before we recover from their actions.

Bullshit. You never sold out to Canada. We are your #1 supplier.

I'm all for impeaching Presidents that break our laws and removing them from office.

But no American President should submit to a trial at the Hague.

Sallow, I am impressed. Even YOU have your limits, and at least a SHRED of decency.

Subjecting American Presidents to the possibility of jail time for some extremely difficult decisions would have a profoundly horrific effect on governance.

They already have enough on the plate.

The power to remove them from office is more than enough.

Just what do you think Barack Obama has done in Afghanistan with drones that have wiped out villages with women and children? Will you call on his trial at The Hague as well? Or does the Nobel Prize winner get a pass from you because he's a liberal and a black man?

Very well and accurately stated, LGS. :)

Happy New Year!

My only intent was to wish a former president well. Whatever else he did, he served our country honorably in World War II and was our president for 4 years. Did I like all of his decisions?? No. But that doesn't mean that I can't wish him a speedy recovery.

I don't picture Bush I liking country music. Junior would be likely to pretend he likes it, in keeping with his "Texas" roleplay.

Bush 1 lived in TX, too and he was an ambassador. I imagine he has many interests.

'Fiddle music'--many people like it.

The Bush family is from Taxachusetts no?

good that I checked--
George H. W. Bush - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I would have said Maine--Kennebunkport.

From the CNN documentary I learned that he attended a prep school, followed the family tradition--Harvard?--served as a pilot during WW2, returned and married Barbara, finished college--and perhaps at that point moved to TX --worked in oil fields and became involved in politics. Then became an ambassador and was a VP, then POTUS, etc.

He seems to take life in stride whatever else he does. Prefers to be on the water.

I assume he prefers simplicity when he can find it? Fiddle music---foot tapping music.
