PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Putnam County duo is dead after a shootout with police following a traffic stop where officers discovered the two were transporting more than $3 million worth of cocaine, possibly to Middle Tennessee.
Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit began investigating Elizabeth and Edward Stevenson through undercover buys of illegal drugs. This resulted in a search warrant being issued and executed on May 9.
During the search, detectives found 3/4 of a pound of suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, multiple firearms, body armor and ammunition inside of the home.
"According to PCSO, both individuals had also made previous statements they would die by “suicide by cop” if law enforcement attempted to stop them."
Huh. Seemed to have backed the talk with a bit of walk.
Getting shot to death by Texas Rangers and DPS would be far faster and less painful than what any of the cartels would do to you for losing their drugs.
Of course they had to include a half dozen old Fudd guns in there.
That said it looks like with all those bricks they could have afforded something better than a $39.00 chi-com optics for the ARs.
