Immigration ReformPerimeter walls where they are needed backed by manpower will work. Not to mention setting up look out posts and assembly areas as part of it.......... camera and detectors as well.....heat sensing and motion sensing with video to command posts..............that doesn't have to cost that much if the simple wiring via fiber or wifi to help put extra manpower where it is needed.............The first part you got right, adding manpower will make the boarder more secure. Spending billions on a wall security experts have said is not needed, will divert funds from far more important Homeland Security activitiesThat is a matter of opinion.................With added manpower and finishing the wall the benefits would outweigh the costs and stop most of the illegal immigration. Would save us tons of money.
The wall and securing our border isn't the problem...............it is the will to do so by our current politicians.
A wall will not stop intruders, only people can do that. Walls just increase the time it takes to climb them and makes flying over them and digging under them more attractive.
Trump has started backing away from his wall. He has already started shrinking it from 2,000 miles to a 1,000 miles. Now he's including the 700 miles of fences as part of the the wall.
If he makes it to the presidency the wall will just become a metaphor for increased boarder security, something immigration people have known for long time.
The wall is only needed to get elected. Trump will no more build a wall the length on the Mexican boarder than he will deport 11 million people. I suspect with the drop in illegal boarder crossings and the shrinking number of illegal immigrants, Trump will announce that his policies are working, reducing illegal entry and sending illegal immigrants back to Mexico or wherever.
.
A lot of the land has natural barriers.............and the I'm gonna build a wall...........saying doesn't mean you have to build it the entire length..............the natural barrier areas only need outposts and lookout towers.
I'd love to hear Trump articulate any of this. Beginning with who is paying for it and ending with how forced deportation of millions saves us any real money.
There you go............READ IT.
How do you defund a sanctuary city?
How much education money?
EDIT: Was a post removed? This is not the response I was replying to.
Cities receive all manor of federal benefits. If a city refuses to enforce our immigration laws, then those benefits should be terminated.
