No one in government fucked up Medicare. The doctors and health care providers take advantage of it and rip the system off. I saw it first hand last May when I had DNR orders in place for my 89 year old father and the doctors, hospital and everyone else in between IGNORED all of it, ran up 100K of bills and Medicare paid for it.
That happens every day. 50% of all health care costs in the current system are fraud.
5% of the population uses 55% of all health care dollars. In 10 years that will be 4% willuse 70% ofall health care dollars. Disease care is where the $$$ is. In 1960 4% of the GNP was health care. We will be at 20% in 2 years. Is this disease care good? No, this group health blank check care is the worst possible delivery system on earth. I am opposed to Obamacare but the current system is horrible. We pay twice as much as any other nation and we are one of the UNHEALTHIEST nations on earth. 60% of all Medicare is for disease care for the elderly, 90% of that for PREVENTABLE diseases!
The doctors and hospitals are the problem. Lazy citizens on blank check group health insurance over utilize the system. Everyone rips off the system. Parents take their kids to the doctor for the common cold! And we wonder why it is now 18% of all of the economy.

All refered by a DOCTOR. And they tried to give himmood stabilizers and 12 other drugs. Combined for the 2 weeks before he died was 16K and Medicare paid. You get the paperwork in 3 months AFTER they pay the bill. Recent GAO studies, as reported on FOXa month ago, 25% of ALL Medicare is FRAUD.
We had Do Not Resucitate ORDERS in ALL the hospitals, all of the doctors Dad went to and al lof the health care home providers for18 months before he died.
They ignored them all and ran up $112,000.00. Medicare paid 80% of it and we refused to pay the balance. And I got to them and made them unhook Dad per his orders, living will and help from the Hospice. The language in the Obama bill, the few things that they got right,that allowed right to die counseling to bepaid forby medicare IS A GOOD THING.
And doctors and the health care industry fight it because they will not be able to dowhat they did to us anymore.
