The prime minister doesn’t look happy, does she?

After the March 15th “terrorist attack,” Kiwi politicians demanded the ban of all “assault weapons”, calling them to be turned in by owners.

The December 20th deadline for New Zealanders to turn over their banned firearms to the government in exchange for some cash is quickly approaching, and perhaps will see a surge of turn-ins right before the deadline. Right now it’s looking like not only are many gun owners determined to hang on to their firearms, they’re going to add to their collection or maybe even pick up a firearm for the very first time as well.

Seems there’s a loophole in the demand. Bunny Guns, semi-automatic caliber .22 rifles with 10 round magazines are okay. And, they’re selling like crazy.

And these are only those reported by licensed gun dealers. One has to wonder how many other, larger caliber, weapons are coming in “under the counter?”
