Though the final details have not been worked out and a bill has not yet been introduced in the city council, advance discussion of the legislation reveals that it would provide voting privileges to documented residents who have lived in New York City for at least six months. Thought the whole point of voter ID was to confirm citizenship and eligibility to vote? What's next non-state resisdents visiting on vacation or a holiday can too?

Next election Daniel Dromm will be replaced by Jose Martinez or Min Chen.

Would assume there's an uptick in conservative voting that liberals are thinking about long-term. If they change it down the line the reason's more apparent, if they do it now when it doesn't seem necessary or advantageous to dems it might be easier to get it done.
