New Poll Shows Majority of Americans Disapprove of President Trump's Climate Change Views

A growing number of Americans describe climate change as a crisis, and two-thirds say President Trump is doing too little to tackle the problem.

The results, from a poll conducted by The Washington Post and the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), point to a growing disconnect between Americans worried about the warming planet and Trump administration officials, who have aggressively scaled back Obama-era environmental regulations and relinquished the nation’s role as a global leader in pushing for climate action.

The poll finds that a strong majority of Americans — about 8 in 10 — say that human activity is fueling climate change, and roughly half believe action is urgently needed within the next decade if humanity is to avert its worst effects. Nearly 4 in 10 now say climate change is a “crisis,” up from less than a quarter five years ago.

New Poll Shows Majority of Americans Disapprove of Trump's Climate Change Views

WASHINGTON) — President Donald Trump gets some of his worst marks from the American people when it comes to his handling of climate change, and majorities believe the planet is warming and support government actions that he has sometimes scoffed at.

While the administration has rolled back regulations to cut emissions of heat-trapping carbon dioxide from power and industrial plants and pushed for more coal use, wide shares of Americans say they want just the opposite, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

About two out of three Americans say corporations have a responsibility to combat climate change, and a similar share also say it’s the job of the U.S. government. And 64% of Americans say they disapprove of Trump’s policies toward climate change, while about half that many say they approve. That 32% approval of his climate policies is the lowest among six issue areas that the poll asked about, including immigration (38%) and health care (37%).

The poll shows how vapid and brainwashed those who participate in polls have become. What's the most important issue today? "Climate change", not the economy.

"Climate change", not jobs.

"Climate change", not safety and security.

"Climate change", not preventing the murder of millions through abortion.

"Climate change", not education.

"Climate change", not immigration.

"Climate change", not the national debt.

"Climate change", not censorship and fake news.

"Climate change", not civil rights.

"Climate change", not campaign finance reform.

"Climate change", not student load debt.

"Climate change", not poverty.

"Climate change", not Social security.

"Climate change", not infrastructure.

....and on and on.
Cause maybe...in an era of record extremes around the world...Americans are a wee bit worried.

I'm not thoroughly convinced about the "record extremes" part. History is showing extremes all over the scale of time..

In total, 47% of all Americans say they think climate change is happening and is caused mostly or entirely by human activities

Hmmm... according to the Time article you linked to, only 47% believe it's happening, yet 64% disapprove of the way Trump is handling it.

Is this huge discrepancy due to the TDS effect? Or is it just more fake news? Or both?

These are the same Americans who aren't willing to spend more than $100 to deal with climate change.

How do you tackle natural earth evolution?
See, the AGW cult has brainwashed people into equating man made warming and natural variability.
It's all a load of bullshit.

As much as I agree we should do more to alter the course we are on it is pointless to do so seeing China, India and even Mexico will pollute us into extinction...

As for Trump and his opinion, yes I disagree with him but the New Green Deal is also unrealistic and a better compromise is needed to reach our goal to keep the planet from being uninhabitable some time down the road...

Now let the attacks begin...
I agree in part. We would need to work with the other countries to achieve goals. But we have abrogated our role. :(

We are basing out future planning on people who cannot predict the path of a hurricane within three days, yet can predict our climate hundreds of years in the future.

We can address so-called climate change, destroy our economy and standard of living, and then watch China roll on to control the world.

I hope you like rice!

BTW, abrogate is the wrong word.

LMAO no he's not. Your poll is a joke that included only 1,058 adults out of over 200 million. Then I noticed nearly 70% of them were from Dem areas, shocker. Conducted by a college in Chicago, shocker. 40% of the losers are not working, shocker.

Yet another attempt by the left to spin a fake news story. Fake news is all they have.

Your article is very coy about a poll they never linked to, never specifically mentioned in detail in the article, where is it Coyote?

From what I can read of this shambles of an article is the barely coherent poll visibility that seems to be a SINGLE issue poll, which is warmists love to warble about since it is easy to make misleading claims to make it appear that a vast majority of people are really concerned about it, when in reality when it is part of an open ended poll about what concerns people, climate change concerns quickly plummets to the bottom of the polls in importance to the voters.

Try not to push this dead end misleading polling gambit anymore.

Dumb, but typical.

I am totally unconcerned about global warming/climate change and I don't know one person who takes this hoax seriously.
