Think...Kung Fu meets Game of Thrones and Deadwood. The concept was created by the late Bruce Lee, so there is a shitload of "Kung Fu Fighting" as the saying goes, and it often reaches the level of "you-gotta-be-fuckin-kidding" as one dude takes on a score of supposedly well trained fighters with weapons. Bruce Lee, right?

It is a colorful "action-martial arts" series based in post-Civil War San Francisco. The main character is a recent arrival martial arts master ("Ah Sahn") who has come to San Francisco to find his sister and bring her back home to China. San Francisco is constantly embroiled in the struggle between mainly-Irish immigrant workers and the Chinese, who of course are willing to work for much less than the Harpies. Major characters are a few of the local police, tong leaders, whorehouse madams, and local politicos. There is a ton of T&A, especially tasty if one is favorably disposed to Asian women. Lots of vulgar dialog - not quite as bad as Deadwood, but in the same neighborhood.

Of course, since this is a series spanning three seasons, the intention of taking Sis back to China is quickly blown away, as she is neck-deep in tong activity and is pissed at her brother for...who the hell knows what? Women, you know?

Warrior. Give it a shot.

I personally find fictional portrayals of women kicking mens' butts to be absurd. The fact is, the only actual strategy for a woman-man fight is for the woman to kick him in the nuts and run like hell (or comparable). The idea of a man and woman exchanging blows is preposterous and insulting to the audience. Just like one guy taking on a dozen antagonists with weapons.
