Nationalizing Big Pharma in the US would save SS and pay off the national debt.

No, it would just raise the taxes in your socialist state, Mike.
It ain't free.
Yea, but then they could spend more causing inflation to decimate the dollar even further than it is!!

Sounds like a win/win to me.

Besides, don't you want the US Federal Congress to manage your drugs and health care, despite having an approval rating of under 20% for the last half century?

Everyone seems to think they are a swell bunch.

500,000 Americans file for bankruptcy each year because of medical bills.

No.

Nationalizing big pharma by making them a government entity will cripple research about disease and stifle the development of new drugs and treatments.

To reduce drug prices it would be better to (a) allow the government to negotiate purchases directly (saving in scale), (b) address patent process that prevent high quality generics from reach markets for years meaning cost competition.

He's pretty close:

If the results are projected nationwide, 326441 bankruptcies last year were related to an illness or injury to the filer or a family member, and 267575 other filers had substantial medical bills though they also listed other reasons—or gave no reason—for their bankruptcies. In addition to serious illness or injury, experts have also cited job loss or divorce as frequent causes of bankruptcy.

No it wouldn't at all. What makes you think that political affiliation is a better way to determine what drugs to pursue than financial reasons?

The idea of Big Government making the determination would result in other countries taking the lead in drug research and development.

Not at all, not even close.

The debunked study goes back to one done by, ta-da, Elizabeth Warren.

In the study, if someone declared bankruptcy, and claimed $1,000. or more in medical expenses, the bankruptcy was determined to have been caused by medical expenses. They could have $50,000 in credit card debt, two car loans for $30,000 each, plus a house in foreclosure. Nonetheless, the Elizabeth Warren "study" said it was related to medical bills.

The uninformed and/or desperate far-left continues to use the study in the hopes everyone is even less informed than themselves.

If you'll notice, even Elizabeth Warren no longer clings to the debunked studies using such guidelines.

Stifling innovation is what government is all about

Besides, less innovation = less lives saved = decreased carbon footprints = happy DNC.

Nationalizing the pharmaceutical industry would be great for 99% of the population. Great .
