An obese America is good for America. Is that your position?
An obese Government is bad for American RIGHTS
Like you all don't want Government messing with abortion, we don't need government telling us what we can eat or drink..
First, this is local
Second, no one is telling you you cannot eat or drink it.
I dont understand the problem here. Take govt out of the picture and I still think that America has an obesity problem that will cause America problems down the line. If you have anything to the contrary Id love to hear it. Yelling "freedom" isnt an answer or solution to this problem.
It's interesting how many on the Left will preach all day about the merits of legalizing Drugs, while at the same time supporting these types of Nanny/Police State absurdities. It's hard to find honest & consistent people on issues like this.
The WoD is a Federal Government issue. This stupidity is New York City. Frankly this liberal opposes the new NY city ban on sugery drinks and the WoD.

Name a Conservative New York Politician.
Bloomberg, King, D'Amato, Giuliani, Pataki..
Jesus. Now you can't buy a coke? WTF
Talk about reaching.
Relax, Big Brother knows what's best for you.

if you're stupid enough to want 32 oz of sugar liquid, buy two 16 oz drinks.
d'uh.....
I dont see the problem with it, America is full of fat asses and if the trend continues it'll be bad for us in all ways
How does ones fat ass have any affect on you whatsoever?
And before you answer....alcohol can led to an increase to helathcare costs as does smoking, bungee jumping, mountain climbing and nitrate laden foods such as hot dogs and sausages...
Sop again, exactly how will someone elses fat ass be an issue for you?

It's none of your fucking business. That's MY position.
California is pretty much the same way.
Isn't it San Francisco that banned Happy Meals?
They banned the toys in the happy meals I believe and circumcisions.
Bloomberg is a big time Corporatist
He's made more money then some 200 million Americans..COMBINED.
And that's the way you zombies LIKE IT.
Bloomberg is anything but a Conservative. And he isn't a Republican either.
Bloomberg was elected as a Republican.
He's conservative when it comes to big business.
But he doesn't hate minorities, gays and religions that aren't Christian as conservatives do. So..he's socially moderate.
Sallow it takes more than just Soda to get Fat.....how about those people who buy diet soda and 2 big macks and a large fries?.....is getting a diet soda helping them?...is just getting 16 oz helping them?........how about all those Doughnuts and pastries that are eaten daily?....Bloomberg is mainly concerned about the Obese poor using up precious dollars in the emergency room. Unlike Jan Brewer..who lets poor people die..Bloomberg can't do that.
So he's doing the next best thing. He's trying to keep them from becoming corpulent husks of flesh.
But don't worry..he will try again..to go back to conservative plan version 1..
Let them die.
Ah so..the fact he ran as a Republican.
The fact he pays himself more then 200 million Americans.
The fact he hates regulation.
The fact he supports big business.
Those things don't make him conservative.
But your decision..on who is conservative and who isn't..
THAT's what makes a conservative.
Didn't know your ideas held so much sway.
My bad.
The Bush administration was the biggest regulation administration in U.S. history, including the Obama administration. If you love regulations like you do, you should love Bush.
This is politics. If he actually was trying to use gov't to get rid of the liberties americans use to make themselves fat, he would've banned Big Macs and banned grocery stores from selling high quantities of soda.
Instead all he's doing is hurting business, I'm certain this will have no impact on New York obesity.
Of course it won't.
Bloomberg would have done better to provide funding for all the after school programs he closed, so kids could engage in sports activity. Or mandate that kids not skip out on gym class. Or back initiatives that encourage exercise.
This is stupidity.
Only when it comes to marriage, abortion, religion and in some cases..drugs.
But sugary drinks?
Naw.
The OP is calling this Nazism. I want him to tell us whether the federal government has the right to 'Big Brother' local governments when they are engaging in 'Nazism',
or if the federal government has no business in this.
Well they are commenting on a local issue.
Most of the commentary is coming from people that don't live here. Or even know that Bloomberg ran as a Republican.
An obese America is good for America. Is that your position?
Say sparky, can you point to a time when Americans lived longer, healthier lives?
This should get all the loyal Nanny/Police Staters very excited.
can bloomberg just do this, as if he were King? i think it would be unconstitutional....
that aside, just order 2 16oz bottles or 2 16 oz cups of coke....he's stopping nothing!
just ridiculous!
