No, it's not. For example, that video you posted in LA, i know where that is and most lights there are like that ON PURPOSE. The reason is because when the green arrow sign comes, pedestrians are allowed to start walking, and you are SUPPOSED to stop and let them go, even if it was just yellow and turned to a green arrow.

Let me know when a pedestrian can cross a street in 4/10ths of a second.

He had green (allowed to turn), then yellow (still allowed to turn), then red for 4/10ths of a second (not allowed to turn), then green (allowed to turn).

So once again....how those pedestrians in the other crosswalk going to cross in 4/10ths of a second?

When I lived in Tampa, I asked a cop what the law was in FL. As to how many cars were allowed to go thru a traffic light after it had turned red.

Tampa could have put 100 more cops to work full time just writing tickets on red light runners.

In Tampa if you are first in line when a light turns green do not go right away if you value your life.

Here in the Portland area they don't need to play games with the yellow in order to make tons of money off of folks who run through red lights. The way folks drive here, it will be a perpetual money maker.


I don't think they should game the system to make money, but something really needs to be done to stop the really bad practice here. The regular cops aren't up to it. Robocops will have to do it for them.
