Murder rates and gun control laws: Riddle me this.

States with the highest murder rates:
MS LA AL MO AR

All 10 states lave little to no gun control laws; only LA requires a permit to carry a concealed firearm
If stronger gun control laws = fewer murders, why is there such disparity in the murder rates for these states?

There's a good article by Amy Swearer that addresses the largely leftist insistence that throwing more restrictive gun laws at legal gun owners is somehow going to address gun crimes by criminals. Major cities / states (often leftist controlled), with the strictest gun laws have this odd habit of being gun crime capitals.

In my state, the leftists have made streets safe by banning .50 cal rifles. Good thing, as everyone knows that street punks looking to rob a 7-11 typically use a 35 lb., 4 foot long beast of a rifle using $10/round ammunition. I feel safer already.

The article closes with:
"It turns out that, for all of the indignant demands to “just do something,” gun control advocates keep feeding the nation snake-oil remedies that don’t do much of anything (except, of course, run roughshod on the Constitution).

You didn't include the 15 million people the Europeans murdered in just 6 years after 2 decades of making guns for civilians illegal....

Oh, could it be that those 15 million people, murdered by their governments are more people murdered in 6 years, than the entire 246 year history of gun murder in the U.S.?
