Movie stars and plastic surgery

Most people get plastic surgery because they are pathologically insecure and have a deathly fear of aging. They associate looking youthful with success in life. They are basically the most fcked up people on the planet. Getting a nose job if you have a ridiculous nose is one thing but all the facelifts, puffy lips etc are just stupid. And the ones who shoot botulism poison into their brains are the most fcked up of all.

I was surprised to read, last year, that Elizabeth Taylor had her nose snipped when she was 14.

The rest of these uglies, these days, do it for several reasons. They say men like full lips on women so they have collagen injected into their top lip, OR tissue from their buttocks into their top lip. The quote, unquote, "normal" bottom lip is 1.5 times larger than the top at birth.

That ugly trout-pout mouth also gets them work, as they have to compete with the rest of the uglies who are transforming the natural look of women, into creatures. I wonder when men will pick up the idea, as they did with earrings, etc.

I won't watch any movie or TV show that has these artificial, surgically redos, women in them. I just can't take them seriously.

The only woman I have seen who has the trout-pout look that I like, has been in movies for a long time, even before I had heard of the trout-pout, and they look normal on her. She has had it since the late 80's. I did a search and found her picture in a movie then and saw the BIG difference. But now, she has had it done so many times for so long, her upper left side of her lip, looks malformed. It's higher than the right side...lol She has been in the TV series, Revenge, for a few years now. Love the show, starring the beautiful and talented, Madeleine Stowe with the artificial lips.Ever notice how these women are always licking their top lips? I have wondered if their nerve endings have been eliminated through the process of trying to look more beautiful.

It has been said that if breasts, touch, they are real. And thin women are usually born with small buttocks and small breasts.

This one, really has overdone her face in compliance to her addiction of plastic surgery.

Some of these pictures are disgusting. This one looks like the cowardly lion! One of my favs, Meg Ryan nearly destroyed herself with plastic surgery also.. :-(

I'm kind of confused about that picture you posted of Victoria Principal, the second one. Are you sure that's a current picture??? Because I think this is what she actually looks like right now...which is still pretty good.

And regardless of which picture is the current one, do you really think she looks like a FREAK in either picture? Because I sure don't.

The second picture of her is about 20 or more years ago. She does not look like that today. The one you posted, which may be current, looks airbrushed or at least has special lighting. Google her images. There are plenty of pictures of her today, with the results of a lot of plastic surgery. My point is that she no longer resembles herself, as she looked when younger, and how she would look with natural aging. My opinion is that people who age naturally, gracefully as it is sometimes called, continue to look like themselves, albeit older. My opinion about most of those who get platic surgery is that they look freakish, not like real people, and no longer like themselves. Sometimes on film or in photographs you don't get the real picture (ironically). When you see them in person, the full impact of how abnormal and freakish they look is clear.

I don't care personally what anyone chooses to do with their money, or how they look. My point is, and it is expressed explicitly in the OP, is that these folks are not a good advertisement for plastic surgery as most of them just look worse than they would if they hadn't had it.

I know a lot of people who have aged naturally who look like hell and don't really resemble their younger selves that much.

Not everyone ages gracefully and not everyone who gets cosmetic surgery looks freakish.

I'm not about to agree with you by stating that cosmetic surgery results in an abnormal look. I've seen some great results on people I know. The only thing stopping me from getting some things done is money.

Yes, this is an example of what not to do! I expect there might be some mental illness at work here. What's sad about this woman, is this is what she looked like before any of the work was done:

Some celebs look good after plastic surgery and some don't

It doesn't really bother me if they choose to do it especially since their careers are based on public appearances.

I find it very sad that so many people cannot accept the natural aging process...and are willing to spend gobs of money and to mutilate themselves in a desperate, yet futile, attempt to stay forever young. Plastic surgery destroys nerve endings. And overuse turns one's face into a mask (confer Cher).

Kudos to Helen Mirren for aging with grace. Meryl Streep is another one...good for her!

Go to this site. You can see lots of before and afters. Many with excellent results. I would love to have the skin on my neck and jawline tightened up a bit. Although I do look better than I thought I would at 60. But I look in the mirror and gently lift the skin around my jaw...and oh, wow! Takes years off my appearance! But, alas, I am too poor to afford it. Maybe just as well, with my luck I'd get a botched job! End up looking like the cat woman.

They make their living based on their looks.

Who can blame them for trying to protect their best asset?

I think it doesn't work that well, but at least I understand their motive.

I understand their motive, but it is a mostly Hollywood thing. If you look at most actors and actresses in the UK, for example, they don't do it, or at least not, so far, to the extent they do in Hollywood. These Hollywood people really look like freaks, and that is just in photos. When you see them in person, it's even worse. An actor or actress should be concerned with how well they can act, not how they look. Those who are the best actors are the ones who keep working. Look at Betty White. I doubt she has ever had plastic surgery. She relies on her talent and ability to get work, not on her looks.

But, anyway, my point, which you seemed have missed because of a knee jerk reaction to the OP, is that these folks present a negative picture of plastic surgery: that is, it does not encourage one to get it based on most of the results you see in these Hollywood actors, who can affort the best plastic surgeons there are. That was the point of the OP, not to put the actors down. You missed the point of the OP.

Not really the rich, Chinese women to get rich men etc, get plastic surgery also in this nation.
Utah has the most plastic surgeons, I guess the Mormons love plastic surgery.

You look awesome Koosh. No need to mess with perfection.

Aw, that's sweet!

You know, most of my life I had a lazy eye. Had two surgeries when i was a kid, but they didn't work that well. So my right eye would be gazing out to the right while my left eye was looking straight forward. You've seen people like that, right? It looks...well, goofy. I was very self-conscious about it.

Finally, when I was 45 I decided to do something about it. I went to a specialist. He operated on both eyes to get them to work together. I was a little nervous about having surgery on the "good eye," but I went ahead with it. And I'm really glad I did!

My eye surgery was considered medically necessary because when you have eyes that don't work together you see double. Although it didn't really bother me, I was so used to it I tuned it out. So, to me, the surgery was purely for cosmetic reasons.

I guess my point is, if there is something about the way you look that makes you self-conscious or makes you feel bad, and it can be fixed, why not get it fixed? Whether it be a nose that's too big, crooked eyes, bags under your eyes, or wrinkles and a saggy jawline. Why not?

It's one thing to get some work done and greatly improve your appearance, it's quite another to become obsessed with it and turn yourself into a cat woman.

Most Hollyweird celebs have had some kind of "work" done. Cosmetic surgery does not always/have to affect nerves. A good doc can prevent that. I find cosmetic surgery repulsive for people who fear aging but ok for those with facial defects.

...or Tori Spelling

tori-spelling-cosmetic-surgery.jpg

No amount of make up or nice clothes could ever make that woman attractive. I'm sorry, but some people are just not attractive at all, and she's one of them - her breast implants are as bad as the ones Tara Reid got.

Another reason for not getting plastic surgery. Most of the time, surgically 'enhanced' breasts look wierd and not like normal, natural breasts.

That's all a matter of opinion, really.

I happen to think mine look great, on the other hand.
