More than 500 legal scholars agree that Trump has committed impeachable offenses

“There is overwhelming evidence that President Trump betrayed his oath of office by seeking to use presidential power to pressure a foreign government to help him distort an American election, for his personal and political benefit, at the direct expense of national security interests as determined by Congress,”

Where?

Those testifying before the Kangaroo Committee have been silent when asked what impeachable offense was in "that" phone call. Total silence. Repeatedly!

So who or what party gets to clean up the Colossal Major Fuck Up that DJT did to the USA?

Younger and Minority Workers Lead Wage Gains as Expansion Ages
Oct. 17, 2019, 8:59 AM

A tightening labor market with U.S. unemployment rate at a 50-year low is starting to result in higher wages for full-time workers, including younger people and minorities whose pay has lagged.

Median weekly earnings for Americans in the third quarter rose 3.6% to $919, outpacing inflation, the U.S. Labor Department reported Wednesday. Earnings for those aged 25 to 54, in their prime working years, rose by 5%, the fastest rate of growth in recent years.

Record-low black unemployment cheered by black activists

“Love him or hate him, this is an incredible economic accomplishment for the President and a tremendous benefit for American blacks,” said Project 21 member Derryck Green.

Along with a reported third straight month of 3.7 percent overall unemployment, the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) August jobs report noted that the overall black unemployment rate fell half-a-percent to 5.5 percent. This is the lowest black unemployment rate ever recorded. BLS began reporting employment statistics by race in 1972. And with overall white unemployment at 3.4 percent, it is also the smallest reported gap between the races ever in terms of joblessness. Until recently, the racial employment disparity between blacks and whites has generally held to a 2-1 margin.

America Created 266,000 Jobs in November
JOHN CARNEY 6 Dec 2019

The imaginary recession of 2019 is over.

The U.S. economy added 266,000 jobs for the month and the unemployment rate fell to 3.5 percent, matching the lowest level in 50 years.

Economists had expected the economy to add 180,000 jobs and for unemployment to remain unchanged at 3.6 percent, according to Econoday.

Adding to the picture of strength for the labor market, previous jobs numbers were revised up. September’s figure was revised up by 13,000 to 193,000. October was revised up by 28,000 to 156,000. Together, that adds 41,000 more jobs than previously reported.

[...]

Average hourly wages are up 3.14 percent compared with last year, above economist expectations. In manufacturing, the average workweek increased by 0.1 hour to 40.5 hours. Average hourly ages of private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees rose by 7 cents in the month to $23.83, a 0.22 percent gain.

So you want to bring America into the shithole Trump is making of it?
Where is the evidence that Trump is making it a shithole?
Nice when "progressives" tell us what they really think about US.

Yesterday was a GREAT day for Trump!

Democrats have not a shred of evidence for any allegation they have made about Donald Trump for three-and-a-half, going on four years. Meanwhile Trump keeps plugging away. The economy is roaring, its future looks great, wages are up, Trump's job approval numbers are up.

Frank Miele, the retired editor of the Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell Montana, wrote,

"No matter how many flags and prayers Speaker Pelosi wraps herself in, she is still standing naked before the American people as the author of the greatest insurrection against constitutional authority in more than 150 years. As the whistleblower’s attorney noted prophetically on Twitter in January 2017, '#coup has started. First of many steps. #rebellion. #impeachment will follow ultimately.'

"Fortunately, the revolution now moves on to the Senate, it WILL be televised, and it will fail miserably. Madame Speaker, delete your account."

Washington thinks the opposition to impeachment stems from good PR.

David M. Drucker wrote,

"When House Speaker Nancy Pelosi greenlighted the impeachment proceedings in September, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy made a key tactical decision: He would not worry about blocking it but focus instead on shaping public opinion and influencing lawmakers poised to sit as jurors in a Senate trial.

"The California Republican spent four-plus years as whip, his party’s chief House vote counter. He intuitively understood that if a previously reluctant Pelosi had opted to put her political muscle behind impeachment, there was little Republicans could do to stop her 233 Democrats from voting for it.

"McCarthy began huddling with his leadership team and top committee lieutenants, while consulting closely with former congressman Trey Gowdy, to develop a strategy that would unify Republicans in opposition and sow public distrust in the process. Together, they calculated that convincing voters the Democrat-run investigation was unfair, as McCarthy's brain trust initially suspected and came to believe, it would sully the outcome no matter how compelling were the allegations against Trump."

Salesmanship was involved.

Sure.

But it was like selling steak to a hungry man.

After 4 years of Democrats refusing to accept the election results, President Donald John Trump's supporters have had it and they are not budging.

Meanwhile, after 4 years of watching Wile E. Coyote, the other side is tired of this Road Runner cartoon and changing channels.

The Daily Caller joyfully reported, "CNN Hits Three-Year Ratings Low Amid Impeachment Drama."

Meanwhile, the deplorables laugh at them. We are having fun. Fun is the one thing that money can't buy.

Ace of Spades (and others) mocked a column on the failure of impeachment to catch fire that Margaret Sullivan, the media maven of Jeff Bezos's Washington Post, wrote.

She wrote, "After endless testimony, reporting and punditry, maybe it’s time to do something different."

Maybe they should try some journalism and stop calling every utterance of some resistance deep stater a bombshell.

Nyah, she wrote,

"Columbia University journalism professor Bill Grueskin suggests the movie-trailer approach. In a message, he explains: 'Studios spend a $1 million or more on a trailer, because they know it’s essential to boil down the essentials of the film — explaining but not giving away the plot, providing a quick but intense insight into the characters, setting the scene with vivid imagery — to entice people to come back to the theatre a month later for the full movie.'"

Heaven's Gate had a good trailer.

Ace wrote, "Does the media think there's any coming back from this?

"I think they don't think there's any coming back from this -- I think they realize that they made it all too obvious three or four years ago.

"No one believes them any longer -- not even their progressive customer base actually believes them; their progressive customer base merely supports their lying to others for shared goals -- and they're now just an all-but-admitted propaganda industry, and the only way out is through."

Of course there is no coming back. Journalism is a dying trade. Nationally, we went from 114,000 paid journalists to 86,000 in the last 9 years. We could get by with half that.

But a few people in the trade get it. Jake Novak at CNBC wrote, "Democrats need to realize that impeaching Trump may not accomplish anything at all."

Novak said, "As the impeachment process moves forward and likely moves to a trial in the Senate, the Democrats are getting what amounts to a free 24/7 negative political ad against Trump on the TV news networks.

"So what else is new?

"In case you haven’t noticed. Just about all the TV news coverage of this president has been negative and those networks have barely covered anything else. A recent study by the conservative Media Research Council found that 96% of network news stories covering President Trump were negative since the impeachment inquiry began. But that’s only 4% points higher than the same group’s results from a study about one year ago."

The media is impotent, not important.

Democrats went all in on the media. President Trump wisely ran against it.

He also said he would Make America Great Again.

.@SpeakerPelosi is counting impeachment votes. Here’s what President Trump is counting:

-266k new jobs
-54k in manufacturing
-Unemployment at 50 yr low
-Wages up 3%

Less taxes and regulation, more freedom for you and your family. Get gov’t out of the way, and the economy booms.

Small wonder Democrats want him impeached. A successful people don't need handouts from the Democrats.
FU youve been taking handouts from the dems for 50 years or more medi care SS etc etc
Dims are paying for these programs? I thought they took the money out of my check.
HOW RIGHT YOU ARE!

Obama's final Social Security Report showed three potential scenarios:
6.5% unemployment with the Trustfund exhausting in a few years.
5.5% which they billed as the most likely, where the Trustfund exhausted in 19 years.
4.5% unemployment, which no one claimed was achievable, but at that level the Trust fund NEVER exhausts.

Well, Trump has spent almost his entire presidency, not only under the expected 5.5% but under the 4.5%!

While Democrats have been trying to impeach Trump, Trump has been saving Social Security!

The difference between Trump and crooked drunken Hillary could not be more stark. Her coughing fits, unexplained absences, eyes rolling around in her head like marbles while she was toppling over like a bowling pin, but, stealing everything that wasn't nailed down.

Yahoo News reported, "An emissary for two wealthy Arab princes boasted to unnamed officials of a Middle Eastern government about his direct access to Hillary and Bill Clinton while funneling more than $3.5 million in illegal campaign contributions to the former secretary of state’s 2016 presidential campaign and Democratic fundraising committees, according to a federal indictment announced by the Justice Department this week.

"'Wonderful meeting with Big Lady. … Can’t wait to tell you all about it,' George Nader allegedly wrote to an official of one of the foreign governments he advises in the Middle East after attending a political fundraiser with Hillary Clinton on April 16, 2016. Nader, a lobbyist, convicted sex offender and key cooperating witness in the Robert Mueller investigation, was brought to the Clinton fundraiser as the guest of Ahmad Khawaja, the founder and CEO of Allied Wallet, a Los Angeles payments processing company.

"Nader would soon be directing millions to Khawaja’s accounts in order to gain entry to similar events without disclosing his involvement or the source of the funds, according to the indictment’s charges."

Democrats offer the best government money can buy.

Not only have Democrats not made the case for Trump's removal, Trump has made the case for his second term!
Trump you nitwits is a SECURITY RISK Talking to Guiliani another asshole so Russians can hear him

My problem is that soon the scumbag trump will be gone BUT the Moron shitheads ,braindeads AH'srepublicans, will still be there
I honestly do not know if we will actually see him removed from office after he is impeached...
I do. Trump's not going anywhere and he will be reelected. You need 67 votes to remove him, you'll be lucky to get 45. You will get Zero GOP votes and won't even get every Democrat vote. This thing's a farce and has always been a farce. You don't even have a statutory crime.
... as was Bill Clinton and allowed to stay. The conservatives are gone, mostly retired and those that remain have fallen in line with the totalitarian strongman crowd. The few center right that remain are struggling between desire to do the right thing and a deep desire to not be primaried from their cushy job by the radical right totalitarian strongman crowd...
Evidence free buzzword salad and bad mind reading.
... If the corrupted Republican party survives this cult-like rejection of the founding father's intention of oversight of the executive branch, as passed down in our Constitution...
Actually, concern that a hyper-factional (what we today call hyper partisanship) would politically MISUSE the impeachment power is EXACTLY why 67 votes are required. Unless there is a CRIME so egregious that a broad bipartisan coalition to immediately remove forms, and there is NO other means to remove (like an upcoming election!) it was expected that House would refrain.

Democrats are clearly misusing their Constitutional Authority and failing to make the case that Trump misused his.

Nancy Pelosi will not be Speaker on Jan 3, 2021, and she knows it.

Breitbart News reported, "Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is also acting as President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, reportedly met and interviewed former Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Thursday.

"Giuliani traveled to Ukraine to meet with Shokin and other former prosecutors, according to the New York Times. He was reportedly filming a documentary with the One America News Network (OANN), according to ABC News."

If Shokin testifies at the Senate Impeachment Farce, that impeachment could lead to Biden's indictment.
If you are correct he probably won't be impeached, will he? You could be found to be wrong. You apparently could tell by my post you quoted, that I have little faith in this Republican Senate even though I have voted Republican far more often than not, ever since I voted for Nixon. I will abide by whatever the Senate votes whether I like it or not, as will you. It will not change either of our opinions, nor my vote. You are the one quoting the echo chamber.

I really appreciate your answer. We have worked so hard on electing folks that didn't represent us. We do have to watch carefully all the things you speak about. Here is my take:

He won't be impeached. They have no statutory crime and they have no offense so foul that a bipartisan consensus has formed that he must be removed, much less immediately removed, let's face it, it's an election year. If the voters don't want him they can simply elect his opponent. Impeachment was never designed to be an alternative to an Election.

While we don't know, for sure, what the Biden's were up to, suggesting that they might want to investigate that is one of the more sensible views of Trump and like everyone else, he has every right to voice his views whether the Deep State agrees with them or not. So no, I don't expect them to get any Republicans and I doubt they will get Jack Testor of Montana or Joe Manchin of West Virginia, so 45 votes, or 22 short of what they need to remove.

If you read through Schiff's report, they are first mind-reading Trump and then trying to impeach him for their own mind reading. They admit that Trump could have had perfectly justifiable motives for saying what he did in the meeting, but then claim to be able to mind read his "real" motives, which they claim were only self-serving. That, in Biden terminology is a double scoop of malarkey. Politicians ALWAYS have mixed motives. Case law is clear, mixed motives are common and expected and as long as there is a possible reasonable public interest motive, we stop there and leave our crystal balls in our pockets.

I share your lack of faith in the Senate, for the most part, something has changed in Mitch McConnell and since McCain passed, maybe in Lindsey Graham as well, but I'm seeing courage and conviction out of the US Senate that I haven't seen much of. I was pleasantly surprised at the courage they showed with Kavanaugh, I was prepared for the disappointment of a sell out. But, I also had to admit that Base, not using their heads and letting Jeff Sessions seat get away from us, well, McConnell could probably add 5 more to the list of winnable seats the base has cost by not selecting more electable folks that were available.

That aside, the base has shown the ability to primary sell outs, and with Trump in the mix, I don't think there is much doubt that we can do so effectively.

But, that all said, if there were actually a statutory crime even approaching the level of Bribery (as the Founders viewed it, not the complex statute passed 125 years later) or Treason, the US Senate would absolutely remove Trump. I have no doubt about that.

What we have here is a major league blunder by the Democrats, not too unlike the Republicans insistence on impeaching Clinton. The more we pushed, the more his approval rating rose until I remember Rush begging for the GOP to stop before he hit 100% approval. And we had statutory crimes and we still had a very bad next mid term. Clinton had been dragging around a bible big enough to choke a horse, had Jesse Jackson as his "Spiritual Adviser", didn't see much more of either Jackson or the Bible once the election returns were in.

So, we'll see, I don't see how Dems extricate themselves undamaged from this, for one thing, they have wasted a year on it and done nothing for the American People and Trump has clearly done nothing that even approaches justification for taking this out of the hands of the voters in an election year.

I did not vote for Trump or Hillary, but voted for a 3rd party candidate, knowing he never stood a chance. If the corrupted Republican party survives this cult-like rejection of the founding father's intention of oversight of the executive branch, as passed down in our Constitution, they deserve to wander in the desert as the Jews did for their abominable lack of faith and and commitment to God until that entire generation passed.
