More bad news for the Old White Man's party

I received this Census bulletin today. Maybe not new, but something for the GOP to worry about when they keep pushing cuts to SS and Med...Tune in on December 14th and find out more!

Doesn't worry me one bit. I'm amazed how many people have failed to realize the following.

In 1949, the Republican Party was in a worse position than today. It had suffered the following:

- 5TH CONSECUTIVE presidential defeat
- lost both the house AND senate (after a 'had enough campaign in 1946' ... Tea party anyone???)

They were writing in Time Magazine how the GOP was finished. Nothing but doom and gloom. Here it was - a President was elected (4 yrs removed from being a senator), who played identity politics to defeat a stickfigure-like GOP nominee - sound familiar?

Rather than do what the Media wanted, they stayed to their principles, found candidates who knew how to win elections, and let the inherent inconsistencies in Democratic policies expose themselves. Amazingly enough, 4 years later, the tables had turned - the GOP won.

History parallels itself and the same thing will happen again.

The problem with that example is that Republicans lost the House for nearly 50 years.

Of course, we haven't lost the House yet.

But was the level of governement dependency the same? The culture of entitlements and sucking the teat of the government is a little different now. With the high percentage of Americans on the dole, I don't know if I will ever see a fiscal conservative in office again.

Yes, the corporations have given new meaning of the term "vulture capitalism". Now they starve their employees with minimum wages and low hours, then then teach them how to apply for food stamps and Medicaid.

It's time that Walmart and the other high-profit mega-corporations are screwing over the poor and forcing their workers into living on food stamps. Let's make the high-profit corporations pay for the entitlements their employees are using.

While Rush and Fox distract you with stories about the "takers" to distract you, Fortune's wealthiest corporations and Americans are using entitlement programs to subsidize their record profits. And the Republicans don't even want to raise their taxes to pay for it.

Only one problem with that...

Walmart is a company that undercuts the competition and drives tax paying businesses, out of business, cratering out main streets until they're the only place you can shop for miles, and the only place to work as well. Healthy, thriving, tax paying businesses are pushed out, and only Walmart remains. Their workers pay no taxes, they drive jobs overseas.

Yes, pay no attention as Walmart, and the other vulture corporations suck the American taxpayers dry. It's all about those workers whose wages haven't gone up in since Reagan was in power, and who now need food stamps to feed their families, who are the REAL problem, not the guys who put them in this position by shipping their jobs offshore, and then cutting their pay.

If Wal Mart's net profits dropped by nearly 50%, the stock would absolutely plummet, probably by more than that. People with Wal Mart stock, including retired people who depend on WMT's 2.30% dividend, would be hurt badly. People whose retirement accounts, and non-profits whose endowment funds include mutual funds and ETF's that invest in Wal Mart would also be hurt.

I'm not a fan of Wal Mart, but let's keep this real.

Don't panic. There is a reason we regularly hold elections. After the 2004 elections it was the democrats tearing out their hair and foretelling the end of their political world (remember Jesusland?). Hell, remember the 2010 elections. obama and the democrats in the Senate will overplay their hand, the true ugliness and corruption in, around, and about obamacare will become more and more obvious, and the scandals surrounding this administration will continue to pile up until even some in the media get bored with cheerleading and start investigating and reporting (if only for self-serving purposes), and the pendulum will swing the other way. Don't panic, and don't buy into the 'Republicans have to become democrat-lite' nonsense. Stick to core principles and the American people will do what we do.
