So what do Americans plan on doing about it, change something, or keep it business as usual?

Care to break that down by type of death? I suspect the vast majority are suicide which you can't stop. I know because of my close association to someone who ended their life with a bullet. People chose suicide by bullet because if done right with a bullet to the brain, it is quick, painless and successful. If you were able to remove guns from society which you can't, those who are suicidal would just choose another method whether it be pills, jumping off of something or running their car into a bridge abutment. Trust me, you can take every precaution with a suicidal loved one, but you can't monitor them physically or what is in the brain 24/7.

So, take away the suicide which is a mental issue and what do you have left along with accidents and what do you have left in the way of real gun violence? I know you'll never do that because it takes away from the "crisis" designation and reduces your cause.

Deflection? There is an argument to that, to which I would respond by explaining my point was there are a lot more things that endanger the lives of not only Americans but people around the world, yet Democrats don't give a damn about those things. They are focused on stripping Americans of their right to bear arms.

What happened in New Zealand was truly a tragedy, but the FACT remains that if New Zealand (the Democrats, and anyone else) believes that taking the right to own weapons away from / taking guns out of the hands of LAW-ABIDING CITIZEN is going to keep those Law-Abiding Citizens safe from criminals and insane nut jobs who ignore laws - like New Zealand's new gun law, they are sadly mistaken.

New Zealand did not just protect their people from the 'wolves' - New Zealand just made a whole lot more 'sheep' for the 'wolves' to choose from.

It is a valid point. If you are going to ban stuff, because people use it in an illegal manor, then we should ban knives and cars, and all sorts of things.
