Because I feel the Republican Party has become extreme, ignorant, dangerous to the country doesn't translate into a lack of support for either the military or law enforcement.

It's your kind that feel they are patriotic even as they bring down the economy and send young Americans off to war for no other reason than to die. Since nearly 200,000 teachers have been laid off.

They get laid off every year, and get their jobs back the next year. They do it that way because union contracts require them to fire teachers in the reverse order of seniority if they have budget problems, and firing them every year means they never build up seniority.

That is how I would do it if I were a self serving politician anyway, and they do hire almost all the teachers who get pink slips back every year, and this allows them to collect unemployment during the summer.

We don't need more teachers, we need to get rid of the bad ones and replace them with good ones. As for firefighters and police ... That's a state and city and county issue, each will decide what they need based on their personal demand

The states already have cut teachers and other government jobs, it's why the employment numbers are so low.

Look it's a trick. Who cuts teachers, UNIONS DING DING! Why you ask? Well if you ask them to pay for benefits, they'll take the layoffs instead. And the young teachers get cut, the old bags that worked the system stay and teach like crap, because they cant lose anything.

Actually, it works out to be exactly the opposite.

I'll give you a real life example.

Here in Alabama a new law was passed that allows for teacher's insurance premiums to be raised on an annual basis on anyone who had not retired by 12/1/11.

Projections were that over 1,000 teachers would retire because of the new rule, but just under half of that actually did. LINK

NOBODY wants to cut the younger teachers. Younger teachers get paid less AND accrue less benefits as the rules continue to change. The idea is to get older more expensive teachers out & to replace them with a younger and less expensive group. A new group that has not been promised the sun, moon & stars...
