Does storytelling from world-history (e.g., Oliver Twist) reveal forms of bureaucracy?

How should we think of bureaucracy in the modern age?

This yarn was inspired by How to Get Ahead in Advertising.

Perhaps the upcoming NFL season should remind us Americans of the basic value of 'deliberation-imagination.'

Americans and other people around the world cared about the spiritualism and values behind the construction and original ideals of orphanage-construction. The iconic orphanage-tale Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens reflected a civilization interest in the urbanization paranoia relevant to discussions about the management of populations in the modern era. Orphanages have been replaced now by adoption-centers mostly in America, though they remain historical symbols of 'socialization/patronage' and the proverbial 'welfare-state.' A demon of Satan named Eleanor disguised herself as a nun and began terrorizing an orphanage in London. The year was 1812.

As Eleanor roamed around the Catholic orphanage she worked at in London, terrorizing the orphans with unmitigated fury and rage, the guardsmen and manager of the orphan wondered why she was no naturally 'angry.' The children of the orphanage assumed Eleanor was naturally angry about some philosophical issue or psychological secret. Eleanor simply wanted to create 'metaphysical eeriness' with out-of-place anger (though she never hit any of the children/orphans). God was furious and sent one of his angels to deal with Eleanor personally.

Americans like commerce/capitalism, so the angel sent by God, Raphael, decided to recruit a cop from Los Angeles in the year 2010. This cop, Robert, worked for the LAPD and was walking around a shopping mall, staring at a peculiar silver mannequin in a random men's clothing store. Raphael whispered in Robert's ear and explained he had a special 'mission' from God for Robert. Robert fell into a deep sleep, and Raphael 'transported' his spirit to 1812 London and disguised him as a merchant, so he could visit the orphanage the demonic-angel Eleanor was terrorizing. Robert was Raphael's 'right-hand-of-change.'

As Robert did what Raphael advised, Eleanor slowly became uneasy. Robert walked into the orphanage pretending to be a 'toy-merchant' and carrying a large of bag of plastic dolls made by Raphael himself. The orphanage manager was very pleased and purchased about 30 of these dolls for the children of the orphanage and presented Robert with a case full of money. Robert smiled and opened the case of money and grabbed one bundle of money-bills and presented it to Eleanor and said (as God's angel Raphael instructed), "This money represents both profit and patience with civilization, so please take this as a charity gift for you and your orphans, Sister Eleanor."

After Robert completed the task, Raphael sent him back to his own time where he felt inspired about his strange 'deed' and decided to invigorate his sense of morality by helping his son learn to ride a bike with training-wheels. Raphael then departed from LAPD Officer Robert and returned to 1812 London to deal with 'Sister Eleanor' again. Eleanor was meanwhile very unnerved by Robert's strange money-gift to her from his transaction-case, and all the children who were there watching the whole affair wondered why the otherwise very unnervingly furious Sister Eleanor was suddenly 'out-of-place' and 'mentally nervous' about holding the money that the 'toy-merchant Robert' gave her for charity. The children wondered if Eleanor was for some unknown reason 'anxious' about human politics...

As Eleanor stood in front of a mirror in the orphanage continuing to feel uneasy about the money toy-merchant Robert gave her as charity in front of the children of the orphanage, her demonic senses began splintering and the mirror simply shattered from the metaphysical 'turbulence.' The children standing by her noticed the mirror breaking and immediately concluded that their 'Sister Eleanor' was some kind of spectre or demon. Raphael, the angel of God, was there and whispered into the children's ear, "Don't be alarmed by Eleanor's rage, for her presence is merely temporary!"

GOD: It seems the orphans have discovered Eleanor's frailty.
SATAN: Raphael and Robert have managed to perform an 'uneasy trick.'
GOD: Yes, they made Eleanor sensitive about charity-money in front of the children.
SATAN: Orphanages are 'complex' institutions, reflective of social problems.
GOD: Are you a fan of Dickens?
SATAN: I like A Tale of Two Cities.
GOD: To critique governments, we have to be conscious about the human will.
SATAN: The flaws of governance create real panic.
GOD: Yes, flaws promote rebelliousness and revolutions.
SATAN: Do you think LAPD Officer Robert was 'moved' by his adventure?
GOD: Robert certainly learned about the 'imagination' behind great deeds.
SATAN: Perhaps Raphael will work closely to deal with Eleanor's rage.
GOD: Your demonic-servant Eleanor has successfully revealed the evils of neglect!
SATAN: If orphanages still existed today, people would talk about managerial ideals.
GOD: Americans use credit cards liberally and shop at Toys 'R Us for their kids.
SATAN: Yes, consumerism in America is reflective of social wisdom (e.g., Toys).
GOD: Do you think LAPD Officer Robert has become 'aware' of parental neglect?
SATAN: It would seem that doses of civilization supervision create forms of prayer...
