I think that basically, that verse sums up the entire message of the Bible in a few short words. If we miss that point, we've missed it all.

some think mans best tool to effect this (government) should not do what Jesus recomends

No offense, but please don't turn this into a partisan discussion. Micah 6:8 is a MESSAGE DIRECTED AT INDIVIDUALS, imo.
